The case against 34-year-old Christopher Byers accused of murdering his friend Ray Walnoha in 2014 opened Tuesday morning in Pickens County Superior Court. It is expected to continue through the week.
Byers, a resident of Gilmer County, has pleaded not guilty to the charges, which include malice murder, aggravated assault, concealing a body, and aggravated battery, among others.
