Kirby to be featured on "Kim of Queens"

Show airs Feb. 4 on Lifetime TV

10 –year-old Pickens resident Erin Kirby is new to life on the pageant circuit, but in under two years the talented vocalist has earned over a dozen pageant titles and landed herself a spot on Lifetime’s Kim of Queens – a pageant reality show hosted by 1991 Miss Georgia Kim Gravel.

“She’s very outgoing and has always sung,” said Erin’s father Vernon. “We’ll be in the car and she’ll sing with Beyonce, Fergie, Kelly Clarkston. People in the pageant world call her ‘Little Adel,’ - It’s amazing. In the pageants Erin does, she doesn’t do the fake hair and teeth; we’re not doing Honey Boo Boo here. She does natural pageants where she can showcase her talent.”
In just 18 months Erin has secured titles of Miss Pickens Supreme, Miss Pickens Care Supreme, Miss Georgia State Talent 2013, Miss Cumming Fair Princess and many others. She will also go to the Miss Georgia pageant as a sweetheart to the Miss Georgia and Outstanding Teen Cumming Fair.
“People around town may have heard her sing around town at karaoke,” said her father, who along with Erin’s mother Melinda began homeschooling their daughter so she can spend more time on her music career. “She says all the time in her pageant introductions that she wants to hear, ‘And the Grammy goes to Erin Kirby,’ because she wants to win one. She’s very serious about it.”
Vernon says his daughter is also very active in the community, having performed at the local Relay for Life, fairs, churches and other events. She also volunteers at the county animal shelter.
Erin will appear on Kim of Queens on February, 4 at 10 p.m. on Lifetime TV after Dance Moms. In her episode, “Karaoke Kid,” host Kim Gravel meets Erin and attempts to groom her for a glam pageant.
“Erin met Kim and loved her from the start,” said Erin’s father. “Kim recognized and believed in Erin’s talent right away. It was a blessing to be able to have participated in the show Kim of Queens and Erin and her mom had a great time. The cast is fun and Kim is very encouraging with Erin.”
