Dolores Mallernee

 

Dolores Katherine Mallernee, 85, of Jasper, Georgia passed away Monday, April 20, 2020 at Wildwood Health Care.  She was born August 13, 1934 to Frank and Katherine Zitko in Cadiz, Ohio. 

She is survived by her husband, Robert Mallernee of Bent Tree; sons and daughters-in-law, Dwight and Dianne Mallernee of Blue Ridge, Greg  and Betty Mack Mallernee of Cumming; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

There will be no services held at this time.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.

Mary Lawson

 

Mary "Cookie" Stancil Lawson, 77, of Ball Ground, Georgia passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at Grandview Health Care Center in Jasper. She was born January 23, 1943 to Guy and Lillie Mae Stancil, Sr. in Gainesville, Georgia.

Cookie is survived by her husband, Dick Lawson of Ball Ground; sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Misty Lawson of Ellijay, Joe and Cindy Lawson of Canton; grandchildren, Lita Lawson of Ball Ground, Madison Lawson of Canton, Lanny Lawson of Ball Ground, Isabelle Lawson of Canton; sister, Betty Wright of Cincinnati, Ohio; sister-in-law, Alice Stancil of Eatonton; father-in-law, Jim Lawson of Ball Ground; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Mary Lawson of Ball Ground; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Gina and Fred Talley of Jasper.  Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Graveside services were held at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 26, 2020 at Mica Baptist Church Cemetery with Chaplain Tim Kinnersley officiating.

Arrangements are entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.

Leonard Millsap

 

Leonard Joe Millsap, 94, of Jasper, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at Rock Creek Manor in Jasper. He was born December 24, 1925 to Walter William and Lora Millsap in Dawsonville, Georgia.  

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Rex and Linda Millsap of Roswell; daughter-in-law, Sara Chumley of Jasper; sisters-in-law, June O'Shields of Jasper, Jane Keel of Village's, Florida; grandchildren, Lana Callahan of Jasper, Tommy Chumley of Jasper, Tina Chumley of Marietta and three great-grandchildren.  Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.  

He was preceded in death by his wife, Berdie Millsap; son, Michael Chumley; and sister, Sylvia Meeler.

A private graveside service will be held at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.   

Arrangements are entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.

Kenneth Stargel

May 2, 1947 - April 25, 2020

U.S. Veteran

 

Mr. Kenneth Stargel, 72, of Tate, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2020 at Northside Hospital Cherokee.

Mr. Stargel is survived by his wife, Martha Stargel of Tate; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Becky Stargel of Talking Rock; daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Tom Cook of Jasper; brother and sister-in-law, Curtis and Lynn Stargel of Tate; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were  held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at Sunrise Memorial Gardens, with Rev. William Faucett officiating.

Pallbearers: Steven Stargel, Spencer Stargel, Sean Stargel, Jesse Stargel, Matthew Cook and Eric Baker.

The family accepted flowers or donations can me made to a charity of your choice.

Odell Crook

 

Odell Hambrick Crook, 102, of the Fairmount Community, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2020. She was the last surviving child of George W. and Molly Long Hambrick. Odell was preceded in death by her husband, Columbus Crook, in 1976; by her children, Mary Nell Perry and her husband, Egan, her daughter, Ellaree Smith, Eva Elaine Walraven; her son-in-law, Kenneth Chapman and daughter-in-law; Annette Crook, grandchildren; Danny Perry, Shirlon Bryant, and Kenny Chapman; her grandson- in- law, Ricky Brookshire.

Mrs. Crook enjoyed spending time with her family, she loved to grow flowers and go loafing. After many years of service, she retired from Ed. Lacey Mills and was a member of Pleasant Grove (Ryo) Baptist Church.

Survivors include her children, Bertha Chapman, James Crook and Barbara Jean Jones (Alan); grandchildren, David Perry (Annie Ruth), Donna Samples (Greg), Denise Brookshire, Jamie Crook, Allison Lewis (Howard), Lisa Payne (Tommy) and Dusty Jones; several generations of great-grandchildren, granddaughter-in-law, Vickie Chapman and Frances.

Funeral services for Mrs. Odell Crook were held Sunday, April 26, 2020, at 3 p.m. from the graveside at Pleasant Grove (Ryo) Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Timms officiating. The service may be viewed on Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Facebook page.

Drew Dover

 

Drew Dover, 32, of Canton, GA passed away Sunday, April 26, 2020 at his residence.  

Due to the current situation with COVID-19, the family will have a private viewing with a Celebration of Life to be announced at a later date.

Survivors include his wife, Cassidy Dover; daughters, Carter and Calin Dover; 

brothers, Dustin and Devan Sprayberry; grandmother,  Marilynn O'Neal; aunt, Stacy Ball; cousin, Savanna Mitchell; aunt, Mandy Walters; uncle, Jimmy O'Neal; aunt and uncle, Paulette and Dale McKenzie; aunt, Jo Maull; father-in-law, Bud (Tracie) Horton; mother-in-law, Janet Silver; brother and sister-in-law, Dillon and Sydney Horton.

Numerous other friends also survive.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers that donations are to be made to the South Canton Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
