July 27, 1940 - February 13, 2019
Mr. Kenneth Lee Adams, Sr., 78, of Jasper passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital.
Mr. Adams is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Kathleen Ann Adams of Jasper, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth L. Adams, Jr. and Cathy of Jasper, David W. and Cheryl Adams of Covington, GA; son, Kris D. Adams of Griffin, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon A. and Richard York of Plymouth, WI, Darlene M. and Ronald Petersen of Greensboro, GA., Patricia L. and Gregory Daniel of Jasper; brothers, Dick Adams of Willard, OH and Hobert Adams of Willard, OH; brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Sandra Capelle of New London, OH; sisters, Helen Banworth of Willard, OH, Carol and Paul Boring of Gainesville, GA, Susie Peck of Chillicothe, OH, Linda Sly of Fairborn, OH; uncle, George W. Adams of Plymouth, OH. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Agnes Roberts Adams (Capelle, Smith); father, Stanley J. Adams; sister, Louella and Teddy Walker and Dorothy George; brothers, William and Stanley Adams and granddaughter, Robbyn Leanne Wood.
He proudly served his country for 12 years in the USAF, where his military career took him to Japan, France, Vietnam and stateside bases. He was later involved in sales and management positions in the corporate world and retired after owning and operating an insurance agency as well as a retail business. He had a passion and interest throughout his life in owning several motorcycles, airplanes and RV's, which led to further travels in the US and for 18 years as a member with RV Volunteers US MAPS with the Assembly's of God. He had a passion for flying that began at a very young age, resulting in his sons loving to fly.
He earned his BA degree in theology at Central Bible College in Springfield, MO and was a licensed minister in the GA and Southern Missouri district of the Assemblies of God.
Pallbearers: Andy Trent, Jesse Adams, Colin Adams, Kenneth Adams III, Andrew Adams II and Kyle Petersen.
Graveside service will be held at Sunrise Memorial Gardens at 2 p.m., with Rev. Rusty Sharp, officiating.

Michael Alexander Ray, 70, of Jasper, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital. He was born January 25, 1949 to Truman and Francis Ray in Atlanta, Georgia.
He is survived by his sons, Justin Ray of Cleveland, Tennessee and Andrew Ray of Atlanta; brother and sister-in-law, Rick and Rene Ray of Mableton; nieces, Rikki and Kyle McDonald of Norfolk, Virginia and Brianne Ray of Raleigh, North Carolina; nephews, Robert and Angie Ray of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Mark and Charity Day of Columbus, Georgia.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Bethesda Baptist Church. Interment followed in the Bethesda Baptist Church Cemetery. (146 Bethesda Church Road NE; Nelson, GA 30151)

Mrs. Virginia Alice Chastain, 92, of Hinton Community passed away at her residence February 14, 2019.
Mrs. Chastain is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Virgil and Margaret Chastain of the Hinton Community and Johnny and Anita Chastain of Hinton Community; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Chris Huston of Hinton Community; sister: Cleo Patterson of Calhoun. Also surviving are six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Virginia is preceded in death by her husband Ulyess Chastain.
Pallbearers: Mitchell Patterson, Ricky Patterson, Mark Chastain, Matt Chastain, Richard Chastain, Ronald Lee Evans, Larry Buttrum, Ray Buttrum, Chris Chastain and Keith Chastain. Honorary Pallbearers: Jeff Chastain.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, February 16, 2019 in the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home.
Interment was in the Hinton Community Cemetery.

Ms. Denise Dixon, 62, of Jasper, formerly of Athens, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Northside Hospital Cherokee.
Ms. Dixon is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Camille Hammond of Talking Rock. Also long time companion, Roger Kisor of Jasper.
Denise was preceded in death by her parents, Huel and Dovie Hammond; brother, Ronald Wayne Hammond.
There will be no visitation or funeral services at this time.

Mrs. Edna Grace Duckett, 87, passed away Friday, February 15, 2019 at her residence in Nelson.
Mrs. Duckett is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Carl and Lisa Duckett of Jasper, Terry and Lynn Duckett of Marble Hill, and Richard and Jenny Duckett of Nelson; daughters, Gail Schien of Marble Hill, Sharon Smith of Marble Hill and Brenda Duckett of Marble Hill; brother, Charlie Bozeman of Florida; sisters, Mildred Wilson of Jasper and Carol Henson of Canton; sister-in-law, Mabel Bozeman. Also surviving are 26 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews.
Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Luke Duckett; son, Greg Duckett; mother and father, Turner & Lora Bozeman.
Pallbearers: Chris Schien, Jeff Bell, Casey Duckett, Gabe Duckett, Eric Duckett and Jesse Duckett. Honorary Pallbearers: Tyler Weaver, Dan Wilson, Jermiah Beck and Zac Duncan
Funeral services were held Monday, February 18, 2019 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home. Rev. Lee Roy Blackwell and Rev. Bruce Weeks officiated.
Interment followed in the Arbor Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
