Ruth Satterfield

February 12, 1925 – July 3, 2017


Mrs. Ruth Hobbs Satterfield, 92, of Marble Hill, Georgia passed away Monday, July 3, 2017 at Northside Hospital Cherokee.  She was a member of Long Swamp Baptist Church and Marble Hill Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Runt Satterfield; sons, Larry Satterfield and Eddie Satterfield; son-in-law, Stanley Stone; and daughter-in-law, Wanda Satterfield.

She is survived by her children, Barbara and Frank Pendley, Donna and Tom Evans, Lisa Stone; grandchildren, John Pendley, Sallie and Allen Bozeman, Jason and Darla Satterfield, James and Deana Satterfield, Kevin Stone and Candace Henson; great-grandchildren, Addison, Gracie, Braelynn Stone, Erin and Alex Bozeman, Hunter, Emma, Grant, and Peyton Satterfield; sisters and brother-in-law, Joyce and Charles Hammontree, Edna Wilson; brother, Benjamin and Fannie Hobbs.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.  

Funeral Service were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, July 6th at Long Swamp Baptist Church with Rev. Harold Bottoms, Rev. Harold Cantrell, and Rev. Richie Gibbs officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Arrangements are entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home & Crematory.

Larry Spangler

November 15, 1942 – July 4, 2017


Mr. Larry Allen Spangler, 74, of Jasper, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper.  He was born November 15, 1942 in Hagerstown, Maryland to Leonard and Gladys Spangler.

He is survived by his wife, Kay Spangler of Jasper; children, Kimberly Starr Spangler and Jeff of Virginia, Larry Dewayne Spangler and Melody of Oakwood, Georgia, Heather McGraw Spangler of Jasper; sister, Biana Morlien of Baldwin, Florida; grandchildren, Christian Erwin, Danyelle Erwin, and Madison Erwin.

A private memorial service will be planned for a later date.

Arrangements are entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home & Crematory.
