Leta Davis
Mrs. Leta Marie Davis, age 83 of Talking Rock, Ga., passed at her residence Thursday morning, Feb. 5, 2009.
Survivors include her husband, Carroll Ray Davis, Talking Rock; son and daughter-in-law, Donald Ray and Dee Davis, Butler, Tn.; daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret Ann and Stephen R. Guptill, The Philippines, and Carol Marie and Claude Gary Hullquist, Talking Rock; and brother, Randall Ardell (Rich) Richardson, California. Six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive.
The family will have a memorial service at a later date.

Audrey Worthington
Audrey Worthington, age 68, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Mrs. Worthington was born Oct. 15, 1940 in Ellijay, Ga. the daughter of Homer and Manda (Dean) Henderson. Audrey married the love of her life, Billy Worthington, Oct. 18, 1958 in Durant, Ok. Audrey was the office manager for 33 years at the business she and Billy owned, Worthington Heating and Air Conditioning. She loved and trusted in the Lord and was a member of Southside Baptist Church. Audrey was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mrs. Worthington is survived by her loving family, husband of 50 years, Billy Worthington, Bells, Tx; three sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Kelly Worthington, Bells, Tx., Danny Worthington and Jeff and Belinda Worthington, all of Denison, Tx; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; sisters, Carolyn Mathews and Malvi Duckett, both of Talking Rock, Ga., and Demi Price, Sheppardville, Ky.; brothers, Bud and Hub Henderson, both of Ellijay, Ga., and Coy Henderson, Rocky Face, Ga. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Roy and Bob Henderson; and sisters, June Henderson and Emrn Easley.
The funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30 from Southside Baptist Church with the Rev. Keith Taylor officiating. Interment followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman.

Larry Little
Mr. Larry Little, age 66 of Ball Ground, passed away Feb. 7, 2009 at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Gail Little, Ball Ground; sons and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Christy Little, Ball Ground, and Michael Little, Jasper; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Paul Slater, Talking Rock; brothers and sisters-in-law, Don and Juanita Little and Ralph and Cathy Little, all of Marietta; and grandchildren, Tia, Nicole, Haley, Dylan and Christian Little and Tori and Will Slater.
The funeral service was held Tuesday, Feb. 10 at 1 p.m. from the Central Baptist Church on South Cobb Drive in Smyrna, Ga. with the Rev. Johnny Daniels officiating. Interment was in Lake Forest Memorial Park. Pallbearers were: Randall Moody, Hugh Johnson, Jeff Eubanks, Jim Adams, Doug Walden and Red Strickland. The family did accept flowers or donations may be made to Georgia Mountains Hospice, 70 Caring Way, PO Box 58, Jasper, Ga. 30143. Cagle Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Tuney Blackwell
Mr. Tuney Blackwell, age 55 of Jasper, passed away Friday, Feb. 6, 2009 at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Eva Carver Blackwell, Jasper; step-sons, Shane Blackwell and Daniel Brown, both of Jasper; daughters and son-in-law, Angie and Gary Simmons, Talking Rock, and Karen Blackwell, Jerusalem Community; brother and sister-in-law, Burt and Alisha Blackwell, Hinton Community; sister and brother-in-law, Luce and Gary Beck, Dawsonville; and grandchildren, Chasity Fitzgerald, Brittany Simmons, Tommy Blackwell, Bailey Brown and Haley Winn.
The funeral service was held Tuesday, Feb. 10 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with the Rev. Gene Hyde officiating. Interment was in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Randy Carver, Maynard, Kenneth and Randall Gilreath, Paul Howard and Greg Tucker. Honorary pallbearers were: Gene and Fred Evans.

Gordon Ward, Sr.
Mr. Gordon Franklin Ward, Sr., beloved father, grandfather, friend and husband of Ellijay, Ga., died at his residence Feb. 4, 2009.
Mr. Warden was born July 7, 1922 in Enid, Ok. to the late Mr. and Mrs Raymond Oscar Ward. He had one sister, the late Mrs. Evelyn Schlegel.
Mr. Ward enlisted in the US Army Air Corps on July 26, 1941 as a B-52 pilot during WW II. He flew 25 combat missions in 1943 and 9 missions in the European theater. After the war, he was flight instructor with the Hawthorne School of Aviation at Spence Air Force Vase in Moultrie, Ga. He retired at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force Reserves. Mr. Ward was married to the late Martha Parker Ward for 63 years. The couple lived in Moultrie before moving to Smyna where he was a partner in B&W Carry-Out. He retired to Ellijay in 2005 where he enjoyed gardening, writing his memoirs and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, F. Pamela Ward and Martha Denise and Terry Eilers, Ellijay; son, G. Franklin Ward, Jr., Smyrna; grandchildren, Marla and Corey Shupert; sister-in-law, Mrs. Azile Irwin, Doerun, Ga.; nieces, Mary Joiner, Tampa, Fl., Jackie Marshall and husband Charlie, Doerun, Ga., Nancy Matthews and husband Hugh, Moultrie, Ga., and Cathy Ogden and Cynthia Kleineriz, Shreveport, La.; and nephews, Dennis Schlegel, Drazuria, Tx., and Lindsey Schlegel, Spring, Tx.
The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. from Cagle Funeral Home in Jasper, Ga. on Friday, Feb. 6. Interment followed in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Mr. Ward was buried with full military honors. Pastor Stephen Smith officiated.
