A tax deductible donation to Pickens Animal Rescue or The Animal Control Shelter of Pickens County in someone’s name would make a wonderful birthday, anniversary, memorial or special occasion present and would help make sure no Buddy is left behind. A donation of food, money, toys, or supplies will make a big difference in the lives of homeless pets.  All donations go to help the pets.  Contributions are accepted every day at the Shelter, PAWS on Main and the PAR Rescued Furniture Store.

If you are looking for a loyal and fun companion, a buddy for one of your pets, someone to talk to, take rides with, or hold in your lap, please consider one of the following pets who needs a forever home to fill with laughter and love.

THE PICKENS COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER (THE SHELTER)

Volunteers are welcome and needed.  Please stop by the Shelter and sign up for a time and activity to help with the animals.  They and the staff appreciate it.

The Adoption Fee is $100.00 for dogs.  Most cats and kittens are free to qualified homes.  Check with the director for details.   The adoption fee includes shots and spay or neutering.  Find out more about adopting pets at The Shelter at www.petango.com or:

SALEM—3-year old, 48 pounds,  black lab mix male dog

Hi, I am Salem.  Rather than brag on myself, I will just quote the person who is helping take care of me here at the Animal Control Shelter:

"Salem is such a sweet, well behaved boy. Salem is so well behaved I was able to take him to the Middle School to talk to the "puppy club". He sat quietly next to me. He really enjoyed the petting he received from the kids.  His owner had some health issues and could no longer take care of Salem and his sister. Salem's sister has been adopted so now poor Salem is here by himself, depressed. Salem is good with other dogs, kids and even cats! Salem is a true snuggle bug."

I hope you will come meet me and visit all my dog and cat friends here at the Pickens County Animal Control Shelter.  We are all looking for a forever home to fill with love and laughter.

Visiting hours are 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM Tuesdays through Fridays and 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturday. No appointment is required.  If you can, please donate cleaning materials, pet food, and pet supplies to the Shelter.

AIRES -- one year old shepherd mix dog

Hi, I am Aires, a healthy, handsome, dog with a big heart full of love.   I am active and enjoy the company of female dogs.   I have a muti-colored coat of white, almond blond, gray, and brown (to match my brown eyes.  I have taken good care of my teeth and they are sparkiling white.  Before coming to PAR I did not get the attention I needed so I am hoping for a very special full time buddy who will be best friends with me.

I hope you will come visit me soon at the PAR Ranch. I have lots of dog and cat friends here. And all of us are ready to fill someone’s home and life with love, companionship, and fun.  You can see more pictures of all of us on www.petfinder.com or at www.pickensanimalrescue.org

All the animals at the PAR Ranch are healthy, happy, spayed or neutered, and current on all their shots. Visiting hours are Tuesday through Friday from 1:00 PM to 4:00PM and Saturdays 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.  Appointments are not required.

PEANUT–Two year old, Jack Russell female dog
My name is Peanut and I am blind.  Because I can’t see it scares me when other dogs jump on me.  But if they are nice to me I like being with them.      I weigh about 18 pounds and love to sit in laps.    I am young and I have developed other skills to compensate for my blindness.  I am independent and get along well in spite of my handicap. And I am especially sweet and loving and like to show affection by giving kisses.

I hope you will come meet me and visit all my dog and cat friends here at the Pickens County Animal Control Shelter.  We are all looking for a forever home to fill with love and laughter.

DAISY–2-year old female kitten.
Hi I am Daisy a lovely girl kitty.  I have been here at the PAR Ranch since I was a tiny kitten.  Now  I am ready for a new furever home.   I like to give and receive attention when I am in the mood for it.  Like a lot of my cat friends, I need my space now and then.  I do well with other cats and prefer their company to that of dogs.  I am also pretty with my soft gray coat and white chest, belly and paws.
I hope you will come visit me soon at the PAR Ranch. I have lots of dog and cat friends here. And all of us are ready to fill someone’s home and life with love, companionship, and fun.  You can see more pictures of all of us on www.petfinder.com or at www.pickensanimalrescue.org
