There is a lot to say ‘WOW’ about when you see the art being displayed at the Sharptop Arts Gallery.
Leonardo da Vinci, Monet, Vincent Van Gogh, Picasso, Dali. I am sure you recognize these names of famous artists that have shared their extreme talents with the world to see and enjoy. Well, guess what? The Sharptop Arts Gallery has on display (right now) the artistic expressions of many artists in the making. We are very proud to exhibit the works of many Pickens County Elementary children. They are willing to share their extreme talent with you through March 13. The middle school art will then grace the walls March 17-27. Who knows.. the next Monet could be in the making.
Then we round up the Youth Art Month(s) with the explosion of talent that our high school students have developed over the course of their education. Renasant Bank is providing a $50 Savings Bond for the high school art show winners in each category (drawing, painting, 3- dimensional, other and best of show).
The Sharptop Gallery would not be able to present these Gallery shows without the help of sponsorship from our community. Sponsors for all of the Youth Art Month gallery exhibits are: Jennifer and Rick Johnson of Big Canoe, PC Co-Pilots LLC, David Jacobs, Don Martin of Torrey Mountain Properties and Jennifer Galligan of Renasant Bank. We thank you!
Sharptop Arts Association is dedicated to the appreciation and development of the arts in Pickens County. Fundraisers throughout the year help provide the working capital that is needed to showcase the talents of many artisans, offer art classes to young and old and open up a whole new world of art to all. All of the exhibits are free for your enjoyment. Sharptop Arts Association is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization and all donations are tax deductible. Sharptop Arts Center is located in downtown Jasper behind the Old Jail on D.B. Carroll Street. We are open every month on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays from noon until 4 and Saturdays from 10 to 2. For more detailed information about these events and the many fun classes offered through the Sharptop Arts Association, call us during our business hours, 706-692-0101, or visit our Web site at www.sharptopartsassociation.org any time. Hope to see you!
