Mrs. Barbara J. Carver, age 72 of Talking Rock, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009 at Northside Hospital-Cherokee in Canton.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, David and Anita Carver, Talking Rock; sister, Hilda Satterfield, Canton; grandsons, Jordan, Madison and Greyson Carver, all of Talking Rock; brother-in-law, Earl Phenix, Columbus; and step-brother, Fred Shaw, Jasper. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15 from Free Hope Baptist Church with the Revs. Grant Wade, Randy Weaver and Autry Dean officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were: Andy and Larry Holden, Keith Hallman, Jason Satterfield, Earl Carver and Jimmy Phenix. Cagle Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Bonnie Densmore, age 88 of Ball Ground, died Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper following a period of declining health.
Born June 4, 1921 in Cherokee County, Ga.. she was the daughter of the late William and Malenda Payne Brown. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Edgar Densmore. Mrs. Densmore had worked as a librarian in the Cherokee County School System and was a member of the Nelson Baptist Church in Nelson, Ga.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Tollyan and Danny Peterman, Ball Ground, and Glenda and Andy Thompson, Tate; grandchildren, Natalie and Chuck Mattson, Buford, Ga., and Cynthia and Josh Greer, Marietta, Ga.; great-grandchildren, John and James Manson and Olivia Greer; brothers and sister-in-law, Wayne Brown, Nelson, and William T. and Barbara Brown, Memphis, Tn. Nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17 from Roper Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Carl Jameson officiating. Interment followed in Lake Forest Memorial Park. Pallbearers were: Josie and Eric Reinhardt, Michael, Johnny and Skipper Densmore and Jeffrey Stancil. Flowers were accepted, but donations may be made to the American Red Cross, 1266 E Church St., Ste. 154, Jasper, Ga. 30143.
Mrs. Nancy Katyleen McClure, age 71 of Jasper, Ga., died Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper following a sudden illness.
Born July 7, 1938 in Chambers County, Al., she was the daughter of the late Wyatt and Kate Pitts Mackey. She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert ?Bob? McClure, Jr., on Dec. 2, 1966; and sisters, Lovell Anderson, Estelle Hicks and Betty Mackey. The family moved to Tate, Ga. sometime in the late 1940?s. Her mother died when she was 9 years old. Mrs. McClure joined Mt. Calvary Baptist Church at an early age. She attended and graduated from Pickens County Training School in 1956. Mrs. McClure was a homemaker and member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Robert McClure. Jasper; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Ricky Benson, Jasper; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Scott and Jennifer McClure. Rome. Ga.; grandchildren, Thomas Smith and Kerri, Kaylan and Kristopher McClure, all of Rome, Ga.; and aunt, Mrs. Retha Carr, Atlanta. Nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives also survive.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday. Oct. 24 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with the remains placed in state at the church at noon with interment to follow in Norton Cemetery.
