J.L. Bozeman
Mr. J.L. Bozeman, age 91 of Jasper, passed away Friday, June 6, 2008 at his residence.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Hugh and Sheila Bozeman, Jasper; daughter and son-in-law, Jan and David Free; grandchildren, Tina Tidwell, Tabatha West, Jeremy Cochran, Trey Free and Julia Benwah; and great-grandchildren, Corey Hamrick, Sommer Tidwell and Caleb Free.
The funeral service was held Saturday, June 7 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with the Rev. Junior McTaggert officiating. Interment was in Four Mile Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Corey Hamrick, Jimmy Tidwell, Jeremy Cochran, Scotty West, Clinton and Loy Walker.

Ralph Atkins
Mr. Ralph D. Atkins, age 81, of Jasper, Ga., died Saturday, June 7, 2008, at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper, Ga., following an extended illness.
Born July 16, 1926 in Pickens County, he was the son of the late Claude Austin and Ethel Mae Edwards Atkins. He was also preceded in death by first wife, Carolyn Johnson Atkins, second wife, Ruby Lee Arp Atkins, and a grandson, Tommy Abernathy.
Mr. Atkins was a World War II veteran having served in the U.S. Navy. He had retired after 39 years at Georgia Marble Company and more recently had worked at the hatchery with Goldkist Poultry. He was a member and deacon of Nelson Baptist Church in Nelson, Ga.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine and Donald Duke, Marietta, Ga. and Kathy and Phillip Abernathy, Blairsville, Ga.; step-daughter, and spouse, Joyce and Kenneth Chambers, Jasper; step-sons and spouse, Ricky and Diane Standridge and Gary and Wilma Standridge, all of Canton, Ga.; grandchildren, Jeff Duke, Jenny Cox, Mary Elliott and Laura Pirkle; seven great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Evelyn Kolar, Powder Springs, Ga., and Mary and Eldis Christensen, Leesburg, Fl. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
The funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 9 from the Nelson Baptist Church with the Revs. Leroy Kelly and Donald Duke officiating. Interment followed in Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Kenneth Chambers, Gary and Ricky Standridge, James Cronan, Jeff Duke and James Cox. Honorary pallbearers were the Deacons of Nelson Baptist Church. Roper Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Patrick Derriso
Mr. Patrick M. Derriso, age 54 of Jasper, Ga., formerly of Clearwater, Fl. died Thursday, June 5, 2008, at his residence following a sudden illness.
Born March 3, 1954 in Chatham County, Ga., he was the son of the late Odell Derriso. Mr. Derriso had worked as a construction superintendent.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Derriso, Jasper, Ga.; two daughters, Melanie Marie Derriso, Clearwater, Fl., and Angela Lynn Derriso, Jasper; son, Patrick Derriso, Summerville, S.C.; mother, Margaret Hopkins, Key West, Fl.; sister, Beverly Ray, Key West; brother, Larry Derriso, McMinnville, Tn. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
The funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 8 from the Chapel of Durden-Hudson Funeral Home in Swainsboro, Ga. The Rev. Tommy Roundtree officiated, with the interment to follow in Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Swainsboro. Roper Funeral Home in charge in charge of arrangements.

Robert Bazhaw
Mr. Robert Earl Bazhaw, age 59 Jasper, Ga., died Saturday, June 7, 2008, at his residence following a period of declining health.
Born Nov, 8, 1948 in Dothan, Al., Mr. Bazhaw was a former resident of Albany, Ga. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bruce Bazhaw.
Mr. Bazhaw has work as a pest control technician with Sims Pest Control in Albany. He was a tribal member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation in Shawnee, Ok. with the Indian name of Ndamen, meaning ?He Shall Feed His People.? Mr. Bazhaw was a member of the Putney United Methodist Church in Albany.
Survivors include his wife, Annette Godwin Bazhaw, Jasper; daughter, Melissa Bazhaw Hedelius, Suffolk, Va.; son, Craig Mitchell Bazhaw, Union City, Ga.; his parents, Rev. and Mrs. I.H. Bazhaw, Albany, Ga.; sister, Alma Bazhaw Otey, Wichita, Ks. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
The funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 10 from Roper Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Victor H. Morgan officiating. Mr. Ralph Bazhaw provided the eulogy. Interment followed in Lake Forest Memorial Park. In Lieu of flowers, those desiring to do so, may make contributions to the American Heart Association.
