Mr. Bill Quinton, age 73 of Jasper, passed away early Friday morning at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Quinton; sons and daughter-in-law, Dale and Lisa Quinton and Kim and Craig Quinton, all of Jasper; and sister-in-law, Faye and Bill Collins, Jasper. Five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service was held Sunday, Nov. 8 at 2 p.m. from Talking Rock Baptist Church with the Revs. Jason Hamby and Chris White officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were: Cale and Kirk Quinton, Randall Simmons, Jimmy Cagle, Hugh Gravley and Glen Mullinax. The family did accept flowers or donations may be made to Pleasant Union Baptist Church in Dawson County.
Mrs. Erma ?Nell? L. Herendon, age 82 of Talking Rock, Ga., passed away Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009 at Wildwood Health Center.
Mrs. Herendon was a member of Arbor Hill Baptist Church in Pickens County.
Survivors include her children, George, Tammy and Jimmy L. Clark, Randy Reed and Kathy Bishop, all of Jasper; sister, Sara Eubanks, Ball Ground; and brothers, Grady Gayton, Ellijay, and T.J. Keener, Nelson. Thirteen grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11 from Arbor Hill Baptist Church with the Revs. Keith Cook and Mike Byess officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Sosebee Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Evelyn Childers, age 81 of Jasper, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009 at her home.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Pat and Debbie Childers, Jasper, Greg and Debbie Childers, Cumming, and Norman and Jacqueline Childers, Jasper; sister, Winnie Mitchell, Jasper; brothers, Johnny Satterfield, Woodstock, and George Satterfield, Macedonia; and sisters-in-law, Dot Satterfield, Clayton Community, and Olga Satterfield, Loganville. Seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.
The funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6 from the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Johnson officiating. Interment followed in Lake Forest Memorial Park. Pallbearers were: Todd and Barry Satterfield, Jason Williams, Patton and Michael Childers and Billy Roper.
Ms. Sherry Ray Poole, age 52 of Jasper, passed away Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009 at her residence.
Survivors include her daughter, Jodi Poole, Ball Ground; parents, Howard and Rebecca Ray, Ball Ground; sister and brother-in-law, Jorene and Billy Cleghorn, Canton; and nephew, Jacob Cleghorn, Canton.
A memorial service was held at 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9 from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with Bishop Lance Johnson officiating.
Nelle Allison, age 98 of Winterville, Ga., formerly of Cherokee County, passed away Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009 at Winterville Assisted Living.
Survivors include her daughter, Harriett Allison, Winterville; and sister, Sybil Waites, Atlanta.
The funeral service will be held Friday, Nov. 13 at 2 p.m. from Darby Huey Funeral Home Chapel in Canton, Ga. with the Rev. Nathan Brandon officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-8 p.m. and Friday from noon until the funeral hour. Interment will be in Sharp Mountain Baptist Cemetery in Ball Ground.
