Betty Ivy
Betty McClain Ivy, age 79 of Norcross, Ga., died May 12, 2009.
Mrs. Ivy, a native of Pickens County, Ga., was a member of the Duluth First United Methodist Church, a graduate of Agnes Scott College and was a retired school teacher with Gwinnett County School System with 30 years of service. She is survived by her husband, Kelley Ivy, Sr., Norcross; son, Kelley Ivy, Jr., Dawsonville; daughter and son-in-law, Leah and Raymond Cagle, Buford; brother and sister-in-law, Luke and Helen McClain, Jasper; grandchildren, Lindsey Ivy and Zachary Cagle.
The funeral service was held Friday, May 15 at 2 p.m. at Crowell Brothers Peachtree Chapel. Interment followed at Peachtree Memorial Park, Norcross. Harold Smith
Harold Maurice Smith (Pop) of Loganville, Ga. passed away at home on May 11, 2009 at the age of 87.
A memorial service was held Friday, May 15 at 2 p.m. from Tom Wages Funeral Services in Snellville.

Carolyn Norris
Mrs. Carolyn Norris, age 60 of Jasper, Bent Tree Community, passed Saturday evening, May 16, 2009 at her residence.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Norris, Bent Tree; daughter, Heidi Chapman, Covington, Ga.; brother, David Godchaux, Baton Rouge, La.; and sister, Janie Pesses, New Orleans, La. Six grandchildren also survive.

Sonny Anderson
Mr. Sonny Anderson, age 76 of Jasper, Ga., passed at his residence early Monday morning, May 11, 2009.
Mr. Anderson was a retired electrician with Ford Motor Co. He was on the Board of the Farm Bureau and a veteran of the US Army having served in Korea.
Survivors include his wife, Annette Anderson, Jasper; daughters and sons-in-law, Hayley and Corey Nibert, Canton, and Jackie Nation and Chris Nation, Jasper; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jimmie Fausett and Cleo Fouts, both of Dawsonville, Ann Roper, Jasper, and Faye and Melvin Mabry, Snellville; and grandchildren, Bobby Pope, Andy Nation and Katy and Shay Nibert.
The funeral service was held Thursday, May 14 at 2 p.m. from Pleasant Union Baptist Church (Dawson County) with the Revs. Richard Martin, David Mitchell, Hugh Fields, Jason Hamby, Ben Mock and special speaker, Billy Dunn. Interment followed in the church cemetery with Danny Fausett, Jerry Fouts, Mike Mabry, Jack and John Roper, Keith Holmes, Bobby Parker and Jerome Dyer serving as pallbearers. The family did accept flowers or memorials may be made to Pleasant Union Baptist Church in Dawson County. Cagle Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Lois Ausborn
Mrs. Lois Ausborn, age 71 of Jasper passed Wednesday evening, May 13, 2009 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital.
Survivors include her husband, Bud Ausborn, Jasper; sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Margie Ausborn, Fayetteville, Ga., and Donnie and Patricia Ausborn, Morrow, Ga.; daughter, Candice Young, Jasper; brothers, Larry and J.H. Hudson, East Point, Ga.; and sister, Carol Smith, Jefferson, Ga. Eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.
The funeral service was held Saturday, May 16 at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with Dr. E.C. Chatham and Rev. Ben Mock officiating. Pallbearers for the chapel service were: Howard and Jeffery Young, Matthew, Greg and Michael Ausborn, Andrew Moore and Austin Anderson. Interment followed in College Park Cemetery, College Park, Ga., with retired members of the City of College Park Fire Department serving as pallbearers.

Janett Bruce
Mrs. Janett Bruce, age 78 of Jasper, passed at her residence early Saturday morning, May 16, 2009.
Survivors include her sons, Anthony Bruce, Cumming, Ronald Bruce, Atlanta, and Don Bruce, Kennesaw; sister, Geneva Evans, Jasper; grandchildren, Sara, Anna and Austin Bruce; niece, Judy Solomon; and nephew, Vince Evans.
The funeral service was held Sunday, May 17 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with Chaplain David LeGrand officiating. Interment followed in Sunrise Memorial Gardens with Doug Bruce, Keith and Kris Solomon, Kris Baldwin, Wallace Gibson and Nathan Jones serving as pallbearers. The family has requested that any memorial donations be given to Georgia Mountains Hospice, PO Box 580, Jasper, Ga. 30143.

Sybil Osborn
Mrs. Sybil Bennett Osborn age 85 of Roy Road, Cartecay Community, Ellijay, Ga., member of the First Baptist Church of Ellijay, passed from this life on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 from the North Georgia Medical Center.
Born July 1, 1923 to her late parents, Thomas Cleve ?TC? and Amanda Lucinda Thomas Bennett in Ellijay, Ga., Mrs. Osborn was a graduate of Gilmer High School, a homemaker and was voted ?Prettiest Lady 2009? at the Gilmer Nursing Home. She is preceded in death by her husband, James S. Osborn.
Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Yvette Osborn Westbrook, Ellijay, Ga., and Cindy and Dr. Dana Brockington, Acworth, Ga.; granddaughter and in-law, Erin and Ryan Stultz, Marietta, Ga.; sister, Mildred Ukena, Easley, S.C.; and special family members Charlie and Catherine Waters, Ellijay, Ga.
The funeral service was held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, May 14 from Logan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Edmund Miller officiating and Beth Umberger providing music. Graveside and interment service followed at the Ellijay Cemetery with a white dove release. Pallbearers were: Eddie Ellington, Kenneth Ellington, Dana Brockington, Ryan Stultz, Charlie Edmondson and Michael Bramlett. Thomas Jenkins
Mr. Thomas Ray Jenkins passed away April 22, 2009 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Ga. after an extended illness.
Mr. Jenkins was born April 14, 1952 in Johnson City, Tn. to Anna Lee McClure and Carl Ray Jenkins. He served his country in the Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He was employed with Wise Business Forms in Alpharetta, Ga. as a printer and also was a volunteer firefighter and a fire responder with the Mica Fire Department in Cherokee County.
Survivors include his wife, June Chandler Jenkins, Ball Ground, Ga.; son, Travis Ray Jenkins, Millington, Tn.; daughter and son-in-law, April Dawn and Nathan Lee Reynolds, Ball Ground; grandchildren, Makenna and Wesley Jenkins; sister, Brenda Hopkins, Florida; and step-mother, Lula Jenkins, Pensacola, Fl. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will arrange a memorial service to be held at the residence at a later date. Roper Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Jimmy Mullins
Mr. Jimmy Gibson Mullins, age 61 of Jasper, Ga., passed away Tuesday morning, May 12, 2009 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Born Jan. 18, 1948 in Pickens County, Ga., he was the son of the late Annie Ruth Gibson and Glanton J. Mullins. Jimmy was the owner and operator of Mullins Heating and Air Conditioning and a member of County Line Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry Hawkins Mullins, Jasper; two daughters and sons-in-law, Telinda and Mickey Butler, Panama City, Fl., and Casey and Sam Worley, Jasper; grandchildren, Kyndall and Sydney Butler, Panama City, Fl., and Acacia and Lex Worley, Jasper; brothers and sister-in-law, John and Darlene Mullins and Bill Mullins, all of Jasper; sister, Mary Ruth and Reggie Weaver, Ellijay; and step-mother, Pauline Mullins, Jasper. Other relatives and friends also survive.
At Mr. Mullins? request, he was cremated and a ?Celebration of Life? was held Saturday, May 16 at 11 a.m. The family requests to make donations to the grandchildrens college fund set up at Jasper Banking Co. in Mr. Mullins? memory. Roper Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Joy Lankford
Alice Joy Lankford of Jasper, Ga., passed away Friday, May 15, 2009 at the age of 91.
Joy was born in Washington, DC in 1918 and lived 10 years in Gainesville and a total of 25 years in Jasper. Growing up she was a Girl Mariner and for many years did volunteer work at South Fulton Hospital, the Historic Society and other organizations.
She is survived by her husband, Jesse Lankford; and daughters, Jan Morris and Barbara Lankford. Three granddaughters, one grandson and two great-grandchildren also survive.
A memorial service was held on Wednesday, May 20 from Jasper United Methodist Church at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jasper United Methodist Church or Georgia Mountains Hospice. Cagle Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
