Mr. Charles Griffin Hall, age 23 of Gainesville, Ga., died Tuesday, June 11, 2013, in Forsyth County as the result of an accident.
He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Nicole and Jason Ray, Jasper; grandmother, Geneva Watson, Gainesville; step-mother, Betty Corley, Cumming; aunts and uncles, Kandy Mayes, California, Karen Hall, William J. Hall and Buddy Mayes, all of Illinois, and Donald and Ruby Watson, Jasper; and nieces and nephews, Hunter Weldy, Drew Ray, Sara Hall and Kyle Ray, all of Jasper.
A memorial service was held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, June 13, at Roper Funeral Home Chapel. The Committal Service followed at 2 in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Ga., with military graveside honors by the Marine Corps. Roper Funeral Home and Crematory of Jasper announces the death of Mr. Tom Adams, age 92 of Big Canoe, who passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2013, at the North East Georgia Medical Center.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Adams, Big Canoe; son, William H. Adams, Brunswick; daughter, Vicki Shopper, Michigan; and grandchildren, Jason Adams, Teri Morrow, Natalie D’Ambro, Angela and Nodia also survive. Twelve great-grandchildren also survive.
The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Monday from the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Rev. Ben Mock officiating. Interment follow in Big Canoe Cemetery. Ms. Teresa Lou Fitts, age 58 of Nelson, Ga., died Friday, June 14, 2013, at Cartersville Medical Center in Cartersville, Ga., following a period of declining health.
Born March 4, 1955, in Ellijay, Ga., she was preceded in death by her father, James Denson Silver. Teresa had once worked with the Pickens County Board of Education and was a member of the Flat Creek Baptist Church in Gilmer County.
Survivors include, her mother, Cleo Silver, Nelson; sister and brother-in-law, Arlene and Joe Dean, Nelson; sister-in-law, Donna Fitts, Athens, Ga.; nieces, Hollie and Morgan Dean, JoAnna Swartz and Shannon Smith; and nephew, Jason Fitts; Several great-nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins and other relatives also survive.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 16, from Roper Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. James Rich and Junior McTaggart officiating. Interment followed in Flat Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Gilmer County.
Rea Presley Pritchett, 96, passed away June 10, 2013, at Grandview Health Care Center in Jasper. Born May 1, 1917, in Nelson, Ga., she was the daughter of H. P. “Pat” and Lillie Fitts Presley.
Mrs. Pritchett was a graduate of North Georgia College, taught elementary school in Pickens County for 30 years and was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Jasper as long as her health permitted.
Survivors include her son, Timothy Presley (Lisa) Pritchett of Smyrna; grandsons, Jason (Jennifer) Pritchett of Avondale Estates and John (Jill) Pritchett of Douglasville; step-grandsons, Brian (Sarah) Sims of Woodstock and Steven Sims of Acworth. Also surviving are three great-grandchildren, Jaci Pritchett of Douglasville and Pierce and Lane Pritchett of Avondale Estates, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was held at Cagle Funeral Home on Thursday, June 13, with the Rev. Terry Caylor officiating. Burial followed at Cool Springs Cemetery in Tate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Health & Wellness Center, 175 Samaritan Drive, Jasper, Ga. 30143.
Mrs. Barbara Buchanan age 71 of Marble Hill, entered into rest on Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta.
She is survived by her husband, Billy H. Buchanan; daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Sonny Richardson, Ball Ground, and Peggy and Curtis Roland, Jasper; brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Linda Satterfield, Waleska; sister, Louise Fann, Tate; and sister-in-law, Hilda Satterfield, Macedonia. Mrs. Buchanan had nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 15, at Four Mile Baptist Church with the Revs. Danny Baker and Keith Crowe officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were: Keith Crowe, Jamie and Jimmy Fann, Eddie McDowell, Keith Holmes and Randy Walker. Cagle Funeral Home was honored to serve the Buchanan Family.
Mr. Danny Cochran, age 57 of Jasper, entered into rest on Monday, June 10, 2013, at his residence.
He is survived by his fiancée, Patty Barrier, Jasper; nieces and nephews, Shannon and Leon Quarles, Ball Ground, Tina Burt and Michael Clayton, Jasper, Christopher Cochran and Timothy Burt, both of Marble Hill; several great-nieces and great-nephews; cousin, Brenda Eisenhart, Ellijay; and many other cousins.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 13, at Cagle Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Franklin King officiating. Committal of cremains will be at Jerusalem Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Stella Henson Ware, age 91 of Temple, Ga., entered into rest on Saturday, June 8, 2013, at Tranquility Hospice in Marietta, Ga.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Harvey and Barbara Ware, Temple, Phillip and Sandra Ware, Canton, Ga., and Freed and Betty Ware, Decatur, Al.; and daughter and son-in-law, Gwen and Vernon Carver, Fairmount, Ga. Mrs. Ware had 20 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Ware was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Ware; daughter, Sybil Shore; and son, Don Ware.

Mrs. Kate Johnson, age 85 of Jasper, entered into rest on Saturday, June 15, 2013, at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital.
She is survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Willie Jean Gibson, Dalton, and Frank and Nora Gibson, Ball Ground; and sisters and brother-in-law, Melba and Vernon Sullivan, Jasper, Jelane Kelley, Dawsonville, and Faye Walker of Plant City, Fl. Mrs. Johnson had several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives that also survive. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, Hank Johnson; mother and father, Etta and A.N. Gibson; sisters, Ann Gibson and Ruth Mullins; and brother, Andrew Gibson, Jr.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, at Cagle Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jess Posey officiating. Interment followed at County Line Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Steve, Andy and David Gibson, Danny Prather, Bill Mullins and Mark Kelley. Honorary pallbearers were; Vernon Sullivan, Dow Evans, Scott Kelley and Don Boggus.
