American Legion Post 149

    Since last year at this time, American Legion Post 149 has grown in several respects. Post 149 has added Chapter 149 of the American Legion Riders and Squadron 149 of the Sons of the American Legion.

    The American Legion Riders (ALR) is motorcycle enthusiasts that are also members of Post 149 or a member of the Sons of the American Legion. This ALR group of Legionnaires adds a whole new dimension to the Post and their hard work and enthusiasm has already shown results in Post 149 being able to support our local veterans and their families better than ever.
    The Sons of the American Legion Squadron gives the opportunity to people, whose father, grandfather or great-grandfather was a veteran, to join the ranks of the Jasper Post 149 American Legion and support local veterans and their local community.
    The most important growth we have seen in the past year has come from the support of the people of Jasper and the surrounding Pickens County area. Their generosity and financial support at our fund raisers has provided Post 149 to support the following activities and events:
    • supported the local 4th of July, Jasper Marble Fest and Veterans Day parades;
