Mr. Johnny Crook, age 48 of Talking Rock, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Tammie Crook, Talking Rock; son, Colton Crook, Jasper; step-sons, Joey and Jonathan Crump, both of Ellijay; sister, Linda Jones, Talking Rock; eight grandchildren; and nieces, Jackie Highfield, Amanda Bridges and Kayla Jones.
The funeral service was held Wednesday, April 17, at 3 p.m. at the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with the Revs. Larry Phillips and Kenny Green officiating. Interment followed at Lake Forest Memorial Park. Pallbearers were: Jamie and Brian Crook, Mitchell Dodd, Ronnie Stanfield, Gregg Moss, Kip Turner and Keith Childers.
Matthew Early, age 26 of Canton, Ga., passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at his residence.
Mr. Early is survived by his parents, Dr. Bill and Donna Early, Canton; brothers, Dr. Paul and Christina Early, Marietta, Ga., and John Early, Canton; sisters, Allison and Chris Faucett and Mary Early, all of Canton; and niece, Olivia Faucett.
The funeral service was held Saturday, April 13, at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Darby Funeral Home with the Rev. Marty Benton officiating. Interment followed in Cherokee Memorial Park. David Earl Darby, age 41 of Ball Ground, Ga., passed away Saturday. April 13, 2013.
David was a local business owner (Body Care) and a part time employee of Darby Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Patty Austin Darby, Ball Ground; mother, Ruth Darby, Ball Ground; sister and brother-in-law, Becky and Lanny Wright, Waleska, Ga.; father- and mother-in-law, Larry and Wanda Austin, Canton, Ga.; sister-in-law, Karen Austin, Canton, Ga.; niece and nephew, Salena and Oliver Cox, Fairmount, Ga., and Jacob Wright, Waleska, GA.
The funeral service was held Wednesday April 17, at 2 p.m. from Sharp Mountain Baptist Church with the Revs. Phillip Burt and Greg Hamilton officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. To the Worshipful Master, Warden and Brethren of Pickens Star Lodge #220 F&AM, Jasper, Ga.:
Whereas: April 6, 2013, it was the will of the Grand Architect of Heaven and Earth to call from labor to refreshment our beloved Brother Johnny William Garrison;
Whereas: We, his brethren, feel keenly his absence from our midst and while we humbly bow to the will of our Infinite Creator, we desire to make a suitable memorial;
Therefore: Be it resolved that Pickens Star Lodge #220 F&AM express to the family of our departed brother deepest sympathy and wish to express our gratitude for his life of service among us.
