Mrs. Betty June Johnson, age 76 of Talking Rock, Ga., died Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at her daughter’s residence in Douglasville, Ga., following a period of declining health.
Born May 16, 1936, in Fulton County, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Paul and Lela Reece Sudduth. She was also preceded in death by her husband, J.R. Johnson; and a son, Sammy Evans. Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker and was a member of the Ludville Church of God.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Phil Keaton, North Port, Fl., Patsy and Alan Norton, Austell, Ga., and Donna and Randy Locke and Cindy and Derrick Goolsby, all of Douglasville, Ga.; and son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Kim Evans, Douglasville, Ga. Eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive.
The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 8, from Ludville Church of God with the Revs. Lynn Pirkle, Randy Locke and Phil Keaton officiating. The interment followed at Riverview Memorial Park Cemetery in Smyrna, Ga. Arrangements and services entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home of Jasper.
Mrs. Toni Mulkey, age 43 of Lathemtown, passed Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at her residence.
Survivors include her husband, Scott Mulkey, Lathemtown; father, Ray Vickers, Florida; mother, Linda Hazellief, Cairo, Ga.; sons; R.J. and Chris Dallas, both of Jasper,; daughters, Ashley Davis, Germany, and Allison and Hana Hollingshead, both of Jasper; brother, Alan Vickers, Bellview, Fl.; and sisters, Diana Bynum, Whigam, Ga., and Jannis Paulk, Ocilla, Ga. Several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will begin at Cagle Funeral Home Saturday, March 23, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and a memorial service will be held at 2 on March 23 at the funeral home with the Rev. Ben Howard officiating. The family requests in lieu of flowers donate to Cagle Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
Mrs. Pearl Frances Bryant Buschow, age 90 of Jasper, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Jeff Turner, Jasper; step-son, Ronnie Stone, North Carolina; granddaughter, Krystle Howell, Jasper; an great-grandson, Gabriel Howell, Jasper.
A graveside service was held at noon Wednesday, March 13, at Sunrise Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Phillip Burt officiating. Cagle Funeral home was honored to serve the Buschow Family.
Mrs. Mary Gwendolyn Blackwell, age 90 of Jasper, passed away Saturday morning, March 16, 2013, at her residence.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, George and Linda Dean, Martin, Ga., and Joe and Linda Dean, Hoschton. Ga.; daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Wilkie Brown, Jasper;sister-in-law, Beatrice Grimes, Robbins, N.C.; and grandchildren, Hayden Norman, Hayley Knight, Kevin and Kendal Dean, Carla Dean Garner, Joe Dean, Delaine Ragsdale and Will Eckhart. Ten great-grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Mary Blackwell was preceded in death by her husbands, Joe McCall Dean and John Thomas Blackwell; and son, Carl Grimes Dean.

Margie Weaver, age 74 of Dawsonville, passed away Monday, March 18, 2013, at Northside Forsyth Hospital following a sudden illness.
Born July 31, 1938, in Pickens County, she lived in Dawson County for the past 55 years. Margie served as the first and only director of the Dawson County Senior Center, a position she has held for 29 years. Margie dedicated her life to helping others, especially Dawson County’s seniors, and all the programs associated with the Center. Prior to her position at the Senior Center, she was employed at Sweet-Orr for 25 years and was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church in Pickens County for 61 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Weaver; and her father, Omada Childers.
Surviving are her children, Sharon Reagan and Danny Weaver, both of Dawsonville; mother, Estelle Childers, Jasper; grandchildren, Randy and Jennifer Reagan, Samantha and Michael Bruce, Chrissy and Jade Weaver; great-grandson, Chase Bruce, all of Dawsonville; sisters and brothers-in- law, Wanda Wigington, Rachel and Mickey Howard and Flondell and James Thompson, all of Jasper, Winnie Hopper, Ranger, JoAnn and Jerry Phillips, Calhoun, and Patsy and Bill Webster, Jasper; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Leon and Erika Childers, Lenard and Gladys Childers, Wayne and Nancy Childers, all of Jasper, Edward and Monika Childers, Calhoun, and Tim and Kim Childers, Cumming. A number of other relatives also survive.
The funeral service will be held Thursday March 21, at 11 o’clock at the First Baptist Church of Dawsonville with the Revs. James Thompson and Nathan Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Jerusalem Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday until 8 p.m. at Bearden Funeral Home, Dawsonville.
