Tim Moss

Mr. David Timothy  “Tim”  Moss, age 61 of Dahlonega, Ga., passed away on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Ga., following a period of declining health.

Born Feb. 14, 1951, in McDonough, Ga., he was the son of the late William Abraham Moss and Lottie Willard Ervin Moss. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Catherine Ashley, Ruth Harrington and Debra Garland; and brothers, Cleborn and Jerry Moss.  

Mr. Moss was a 1970 graduate of Morgan County High School and had retired from Georgia Power Company after 35 years of service. He attended the Siloam Baptist Church and Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Trish Moss of Dahlonega; daughter, Dionne and Jimmy Mitchell of Cordele, Ga.; sons, Andy and Heather Moss of Rock Mount, Ga., and Brian and Emmalee Moss of Griffin, Ga.; step-daughter, Amy and Jason Sullens of Dahlonega; STEP-SON, Steven and Jennifer Mulkey of Dahlonega; grandchildren, Carrie and David Mitchell, Claira-Anne Moss, Coleman, Emily and Audrey Sullens, Sarah, Jacob and Zachary Mulkey; and brothers, Vernon and Deanne Moss of Stockbridge, Ga., Lamar and Janet Moss of Rutledge, Ga., and Larry Moss of Buford, Ga.; Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

The funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Dahlonega Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Steve Baker and Lyman Caldwell officiating. Interment followed in Bethlehem/Jones Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donation be made to the Siloam Baptist Church, Home Mission Fund, c/o Ryan Pierce, 680 Sam Davis Rd., Dahlonega, Ga.  30533 or to Bethlehem Baptist Church, Benevolence Fund, P.O. Box 457, Dahlonega, Ga.  30533. The family entrusted the arrangements and services to the staff of Roper Funeral Home & Crematory of Jasper


Buck Trammell

Houston Paul Trammell (Buck) was born on August 18, 1960, and passed Oct. 31, 2012.

Survivors include his wife, Vera Trammell; son, Christopher Smith; granddaughter, Kholie Smith; sisters and brother-in-law, Susie Smith, Dahlonega, Ga., Helen Dunn, Cumming, Ga., Paulette and Gary Bennett, Marble Hill, Ga., Katherine Holt, Jasper, Ga., and Janice Burns, Dahlonega, Ga.; and brothers and sister-in-law, Thomas Trammell, Jasper, and Timothy and Tracey Trammell, Monroe, Ga. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A memorial service will be held on Nov. 11 at Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Dawson County at 2 p.m. Pastors William Blackwell, Bobby Trammell and Jason Hamby will officiate.


Marvin Clayton

Marvin Clayton of Ball Ground, age 61, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, from a massive heart attack while at work.

He is preceded in death by his father, James M. Clayton.

Survivors include his mother, Louise Clayton; daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Josh Prince; grandchildren, Anderson, Jackson and Madison Whittle and Lilly Prince; brother and sister-in-law, Leonard and Betty Clayton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Juanita and Don Dean, Mary and Donnie Russell and Carolyn Bruce; and loved friend, Sheryl Clayton. Numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, nephew and great-great-nieces and nephews also survive.

The service was held Saturday, Nov. 3, at Sosebee Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Horace Richards officiating. Songs and music was by Josh Prince, Mary Bruce, Frank and Deborah McDaniel and Lisa Cline. Pallbearers were: Josh Prince, Anderson and Jackson Whittle, Dr. Jerimy Bruce, Gary Cheshire, William Thacker, Dwayne Jordan, Glenn Vest and Charles Kelly. Flowers were accepted and donations in Marvin’s memory can be made to help with funeral expenses to Sosebee Funeral Home.
