Come see Sherlock Meets the Phantom! Enjoy a whimsical farce about the famous detective solving the mystery of who is frightening the performers of the famous Virginia City Opera House, threatening to close the show. How can Sherlock solve a mystery with no Watson? You have got to meet his new sleuth-hound! This show will have everybody on the run and going nuts - or maybe bananas. You will laugh and even be surprised. Enjoy a great musical pre-show by Marble Valley Community Choir (Thursday), Music Students of the Academy (Friday) and Sharptop Strings (Saturday).

Director Bay Cagle and Assistant Director Ellen Painter have been guiding the cast in this comedy that stretches the young actors’ skills. The talented and focused group has been getting high praise on their efforts from the directors who say that it will show up on stage. Stage Manager Gwen Falkowski is back with YAP for another production providing her organizational and creative talents behind the scenes.
The cast, ranging in age from 9-14, includes Christopher Brown as Sherlock, Jordan Merrell as his housekeeping sleuth-hound, Nathan Hamilton as the Opera House director, Elijah Hooks and Mikayla Denny as mysterious characters and Lauren Falkowski and Hannah Vincent as Phantom victims. The Opera House singers include Lila McArthur, Abby Gerrard, Summer Jones, Amber Boren, Megan Boren and Emma Nix. The actors come from Jasper Middle School, Pickens County Middle School, Harmony Elementary School, Hill City Elementary School, homeschool and private schools.
Creative and Performing Arts Academy and the Young Actors Project (YAP) are pleased to offer another delightful youth show that is great fun for the entire family. Showtimes are Thursday and Friday, Nov. 8-9, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Nov 10, at 1. Tickets are $10 adults and $5 students and are available up to 45 minutes before showtime. YAP is excited to be performing their play inside the Tater Patch Players Theater, located at 95 Philadelphia Lane, Jasper (behind Wal-Mart).
