Are you Jasper’s Most Talented?

As part of their 2012 Independence Day celebration, the Jasper Lions Club is sponsoring a “Jasper’s Most Talented” contest to be held at the bandstand at Lee Newton Park.      Participants may be individuals or groups and may present any kind of family-oriented performance – singing, dancing, dramatic, poetry readings or even pet tricks! There is no entrance fee.

Performances will be limited to three minutes each for the Preliminary round on Friday, June 29, at 7 p.m. and five minutes each for the Final round on Tuesday, July 3, from 7-8 p.m.

A panel of judges will choose which contestants advance to the final round, but the audience will pick the ultimate winner. The winning act will perform immediately prior to the always-spectacular fireworks display on the night of the 4th after which the $500 prize will be awarded.

Sound system will be available at the park. Entrants must provide accompaniment on CD no later than 6 p.m. Get your acts together - deadline for application is Friday, June 22!  Applications may be picked up at the offices of Miller & Associates on weekdays during business hours or can be downloaded from  Watch the Progress for further details.

I lived in Pickens County ALL MY LIFE. Been in Cobb County since my home in Pickens County was burgularized and burned in 1985. I am a poet and I also have written a few song lyrics.
