Original Press release from Pickens Sheriff

The Pickens sheriff's office received several reports of cars being entered and items being taken from them. The incidents appear to have occurred overnight and the primary location is in the area of Worley Crossroads, in the southern portion of Pickens County. At this time, all reports indicate that the cars were left unlocked and no force was used to break into the vehicles.

Please ensure that you remove personal property that may be of any value and that you lock all vehicles. Another way that you can make your home a tougher target would be to use flood lights or other outside lighting sources to deter a potential break in.

If you have any information that may assist in the active investigation, please contact the Pickens Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division
at 706-253-8935.
