Dinner and Discussion: Thyroid Deficiency and the Effects of Misdiagnosing Thyroid Disease

According to the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, more than 27 million Americans have either an overactive or underactive thyroid, but only half of them know it. In this discussion, Lawrence Robinson, Jr., M.D., will discuss the symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of thyroid deficiency.


Dr. Robinson, earned his medical degree from the Ohio State University College of Medicine, in Columbus, Ohio in 2006. He completed his surgical internship at the University of Chicago, in Chicago, Ill. and his residency in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at the Ohio State University. Dr. Robinson is a candidate for diplomacy with the American Board of Otolaryngology and is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He is experienced in all facets of otolaryngology and has a special interest in reconstructive surgery of the head and neck, the medical and surgical management of thyroid and parathyroid disorders, rhinology and pediatric otolaryngology.
