Fred Sutton

Fred J. Sutton age 66 of Marietta, died Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011.

Mr. Sutton was a lifelong resident of Cobb County. He was a retired Wall Covering Specialist for Goodman Decorating. He was Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Gwen Johnson Sutton, Marietta; daughters, Trecia S. Hood and Wendy Shedd, both of Rome; sons, Freddie and Barry Sutton, both of Rome; step-children, Dawn Carter, Marietta, and Tammy Hollifield and Kim Jones, both of Jasper; and brother, Doug Sutton, Dallas. Fifteen grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

The funeral service was held Saturday, Sept. 24, at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Marietta Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Gravitt officiating. Interment followed in Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery.                           www.mariettafuneralhome. org

Linda Cagle

Ms. Linda Cagle, age 62 of Twin Lakes, Talking Rock, Ga., passed at her residence Sept. 22, 2011.

Survivors include her parents, Roy and Bonzeil Cagle, Canton, Ga.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe and Susan Cagle, Woodstock, Ga., and Mike and Lynn Cagle, Canton; and sister, April Cagle, Canton. Five nephews and two nieces also survive.

The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with the Revs. Robert Allen and Glen Moody officiating. Interment followed in Cherokee Memorial Park in Canton. Pallbearers were: Don and Ronald Hales, Ted Chadwick, Clint Weatherby, Marcus Flowers and Haney Evans. Honorary pallbearers were: Beeper Charles and Glen Wesley.

Jeannine Hartman

Mrs. Jeannine Hartman, age 52 of Jasper, passed early Tuesday morning, Sept. 20, 2011, at her residence.

Survivors include her husband, Greg “Kraut” Hartman, Jasper; mother, Elizabeth Guerrero, New York; sister, Georgette, New York; parents-in-law, Bill and Nina Hartman; son and daughter-in-law, Shane and Stephany Hartman, Canton; granddaughter, Dakotah Hartman; sisters-in-law, Angela Jones and Toni McKnight; brothers, Claude, Andre and Adrien; nephews, Vincent, Dominic, Justin and Anthony; nieces, Nicole and Arielle; sisters-in-law, Janet and Cindy; and all her brothers and sisters of the wind. Jeannine was preceded in death by her daughter, Franchesca Rogers.

The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23, at Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church with Father Charles Byrd officiating. Interment followed at Green Lawn Cemetery in Roswell with Minister Ray Bell (RAT) officiating. Pallbearers were: Rucker, Shady, Artie, Shack, Roger and Joe. Alternates were: Hitt and Carl. Cagle Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Delilah Lasky

Mrs. Delilah Lillian “Dee” (Johnson) Gardner Lasky, 69, a native of Logan, W.V., and a resident of Bent Tree, Jasper, Ga., died Sept. 13, 2011, at her home after several years battling COPD. She was a loving, independent, geriatric caregiver to many of her friends and neighbors.

Mrs. Lasky was born in West Virginia on Jan. 18, 1942, the daughter of the late Avery J. “Foots” and Grace Fern (Steele) Johnson. She is survived by a son, David Guy Gardner, Michigan; daughter, Stacy Robin Thomas, Talking Rock, Ga..; grandchildren, Kara Erin Lay, Jasper, Ga., and Michael Stacy Lay, Suwanee, Ga.; sisters, Mrs. Betty Jo Kovach Carli, Cotati, Ca., and Mrs. Madonna E. Hipps, Kirkwood, Mo.; a much loved brother-in-law, Paul “Phil” Hipps, Kirkwood, Mo.; and a dear cousin, Mary Loretta Johnson Wager, Huntington, W.V.

Dee is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, very special friends, including Kay Ludwig, Betty Brown and many other wonderful friends.                         Mrs. Lasky was preceded in death by her husband, Erwin (Steve) “Itzie” Lasky; a son-in-law, Patrick Thomas; two brothers, Don Avery (Bob) and James Herod Johnson; and a sister, Louise Vendetta Mounts Poirier Norton.

It was the wish of Mrs. Lasky to be cremated and memorials given to the American Lung Association.
