Shannon Buelow

Shannon O. Buelow, age 57, of Tate, Ga., died Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at her residence following a sudden illness.

She was born August 25, 1953. Shannon had worked as a Grill Operator and Relief Manager with Waffle House in Jasper, but more recently worked at the Kentucky Fried Chicken in Jasper.

Survivors include her extended family and friends.

At her request, Shannon was cremated and a memorial service was held at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 17, from the Roper Funeral Home Chapel with Jeremiah Chapman officiating. Interment of the cremains will follow in Norton Cemetery.

Willie Fraser

Willie M. Fraser, age 87 of Jasper, formally of Marietta, died Thursday, April 14, 2011.

Mrs. Fraser was a native of North Carolina but lived most of her life in Cobb County. She was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church. She was employed with Cloth World for 18 years. Mrs. Fraser loved sewing and was a loving mother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benson Fraser; and her daughter, Virginia Mae Gilbert.                         Surviving are daughters, Linda Collins, Jasper, Debra June Park, Acworth, and Sandra Fraser Upshaw, Jasper; and sons, Jerry Lee Garrett, Marietta, and Kenneth Benson Fraser, Bainbridge. Thirteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren also survive.

The funeral service was held Sunday at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Marietta Funeral Home and Crematory. Interment followed in Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery in Marietta. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, Ok. 73123-1718.

Elizabeth Disharoon

Miss Elizabeth Libby Disharoon, age 69 of Marble Hill, Ga., passed early Saturday evening, April 16, 2011, at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper.

Survivors include her sister, Iris Duncan, Marble Hill; sister-in-law, Yvonne Disharoon, Jasper; and special friend, Mary Qualls, Marble Hill. Two nieces, one nephew, five great-nieces, four great-nephews, five great-great-nieces and seven great-great-nephews and a lost of friends and relatives also survive.

The funeral service was held Tuesday, April 19, at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with the Revs. Mike Mize and Harold Bottoms officiating. Interment followed in Long Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Nathan Robinson, David and Danny Duncan, Lee Makool, Kerry Oliver and Eric Dyer. Honorary pallbearers were: Zackery Makool, James and Randall Buchanan and Christopher Hudson.

John Gudger III

Mr. John Robert Gudger III, age 31 of Talking Rock, died Friday, April 15, 2011.

Mr. Gudger was born on Oct. 16, 1979, in Riverdale, Ga. He was an electrician for JRG Electrical Co. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Kelsi Gudger, Talking Rock; daughter, Madison Grace Gudger, Dallas, Ga.; son, Hollis Robert Gudger, Talking Rock; father and step-mother, John Robert II and Lynn Gudger, Canton; mother, Janice Nix, Forest Park, Ga.; sister and brother-in-law, Stephanie and Jacob Borcherding, Canton; grandparents, John Robert (Bob) and Patsy Gudger, Ellijay,

and William Nix, Forrest Park, Ga.; aunt, Doris Gudger, Ellijay.

The funeral service was held Monday, April 18, at 2 p.m. from the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Ellijay with the Rev. Rubin Smith officiating. Interment was in the Mountaintown Baptist Church in Ellijay. Bernhardt Funeral Home of Ellijay in charge of arrangements.

Ronald Cochran

Mr. Ronald Hubert (Roc) Cochran, age 62 of Jasper, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at Emory Adventist Hospital in Smyrna.

Survivors include his brothers, Danny Cochran, Jasper, and David Cochran, Ball Ground; and nieces and nephews, Christopher Cochran, Shannon Quarles, Tina and Timothy Burt.

The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 15, from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with the Revs. Franklin King and David Pruitt officiating. Interment followed in Jerusalem Baptist Church Cemetery with local Chapter 47 DAV in charge of military rites. Pallbearers were: Guy Chapman, Jay Wheeler, Paul McDaniel, Warren Padgett, Randy Childers, Darryl (Doc) Delft, Mike Clayton and James Cochran. The family did accept flowers or donations to local Chapter 47 DAV.
