Non-Fiction High School First Place

My faith in the cause of learning

5/12/2008 - By Mark Green

I have, through somewhat unorthodox circumstances, come to a conclusive arena of opinion regarding the need for education in order to gain passage for the advancement of the human race.
It has become grievously apparent to me that if one is to gain any credibility with the masses, and certainly to dislodge themselves from their own destructive criticism, that they must obtain a concentration of higher learning.
This being stated, it is a thunderous call falling on deaf ears.

The reign of ignorance has been long and tyrannical, and in some way has surely affected nearly every man.
It has robbed people of their freedom, of their dignity, and all too often of their lives.
This tyrant has fed off of the stolen potential of its captives and so too of their unfortunate subjects.
Ignorance seeks whom it may devour, it has no feelings, and it spreads like a blazing fire.

This enigma cannot readily be solved, nor can it be merely forgotten.
But so liken unto any long journey, it is the first step which gains the greatest length.
To initiate the fall of this giant begins with arriving at the simple mental conception of possibility.

Thus one of the roots of education is to begin with what can be before arriving at what cannot be.
To elaborate, if one arrives at what is not possible before they arrive at the opposite then their realm of imagination will be greatly diminished, and thus their ability to think on multiple planes will be almost non existent.
I have been persuaded that when one acquires a true education, their being will transcend its previous state and their mental capacity will be multi-functional.

If we are to make a difference in regards to the advancement of education, then we must make a noble effort to teach the helpless.
We must go out into the dwellings of the most ignorant and bring them into the glorious light of knowledge.
If we bring survival to the worst, then life shall be assured for all.

We must inspire children and adults alike to believe in their own abilities. Intelligence is inherent only to a certain degree, then devotion takes over, and it becomes a product of willpower as to whether one will attain their goals or submit to the powers over them.
Inspiration is again another major building block of education.

Throughout history education has often been segregated by many different objects of prejudice.
But wisdom is greater far than the dim pawns of worldly ineptitude. And if only we shall keep this cause to bear its pen to our hearts, then with all certainty we shall overcome the perils of injustice.
Humankind is continually on the rise, and will forever progress to a higher state, but the speed at which we progress is completely dependent on the speed at which we fully come to the conclusion that education is the foundation and the hope of all humanity.
