Home-grown – Hand-made. The Jasper Farmers’ Market, now in our 15th season, proudly continues as one of the only local markets where you can purchase your items directly from the grower/crafter.
New to the Market this week is Annmarie Hohmann with her homemade dog treats. I purchased some at the Wednesday Market for our four-legged child Abby, who greatly recommends them. With almost 50 vendors this week, there was plenty of fresh produce and goodies to go around. Just from my vantage point, there’s blueberries, tomatoes, beans, squash, potatoes, corn, more corn and honey. That makes for a good supper.
This Saturday will be our annual Salsa Contest, so bring your best and see how it fares among the competition. Or just come out and cast your vote. To vote, simply pay $1 for a bowl of chips then pick your favorite and cast your ballot. The top three “Peoples Choice” winners from each category, fresh and canned, will go on to the tri-market competition two weeks later which will be held at the Jasper Farmers’ Market.
The Jasper Farmers’ Market is held in the Park & Ride lot next to Lee Newton Park. The Market is open Saturdays and Wednesday from 7:30-12.
