If you want a chance to win big prizes and support troops overseas, you’ll want to be sure to purchase raffle ticket from the local Marine Corps League before their drawing on July 4.
The raffle is Marine Corps League Det. #1280’s big annual fundraiser, with proceeds going towards the purchase of supplies that will be sent to active military in Afghanistan and those in Quick Response Teams who have varying locations.
There are four big prizes this year, including a $500 gift card to Kroger; a Savage 12 gauge shotgun, a $100 grill donated by Lowe’s and another $100 grill donated by Home Depot. Each of the four prizes also includes several gift cards to restaurants and other businesses in the Jasper, Ellijay and Canton areas.
Members of the Marine Corps League will be selling tickets at Kroger in Jasper on Saturday, June 28, and will also be selling tickets at the Jasper Farmer’s Market on Saturday mornings.
Tickets are $2 each, 3 for $5 or 6 for $10. All tickets are drawn from the same barrel, so each ticket you purchase comes with four chances to win.
The drawing will be held on July 4 during Independence Day festivities at Lee Newton Park. Winner does not have to be present to win.
