Incumbent school board members beaten
Jerry Barnes wins re-election as west district commissioner

     Pickens voters overwhelmingly said yes to a one-cent sales tax to fund road improvements and overwhelmingly rejected two incumbent school board members.
    West District Commissioner Jerry Barnes was returned to office with a comfortable win over challenger Bart Connelly.

A gentle reminder, SPLOST per state law, can only be used to buy or construct not maintain facilities and vehicles. Considering how paltry our general budget is, I hope they have a plan on managing these additional expenses. Also how will the community center debt be taken care of?
