Pickens native Thomas Fountain will perform at the Woodstock Concert Series
this Saturday, May 10 at 7:30 p.m.
After a year of non-stop touring at local and regional venues and solidifying himself as a 2013 Georgia Country Artist of the Year Finalist and Cherokee Life Magazine’s Best Musician, Pickens resident Thomas Fountain is tuning up for what he says will be his biggest show to date.
“This is a pretty big deal for a local boy,” said Fountain, who along with the rest of the Thomas Fountain Band will be playing for thousands of concert-goers at the Woodstock Concert Series as opening act for country musician Joe Diffie, an artist with five Billboard number one singles under his belt.
“This is huge for myself and my band,” said Fountain, who in just over a year of promoting himself as a solo musician has gained the attention of bigger concert promoters, regional radio stations and who makes regular trips to Nashville to perform. “And I was a huge fan of Joe Diffie growing up.”
Fountain also recently completed an EP with his band, which will be for sale the day of the show this Saturday, May 10 at 7:30 p.m.
“I just finished my EP that I recorded in Nashville,” Fountain said. “They are all songs I've written or co-written and this concert has an attendance of between 15,000 and 18,000. For that many people to hear my music for the first time is a really big deal. It’s the highlight of my career thus far for sure.”
Admission to the show is free, just bring a lawn chair or a blanket to sit on. The series is held at The Park at the City Center in downtown Woodstock at 103 Arnold Mill Road, Woodstock, Ga, 30188.
