HighSchoolShow

A shot from the Sharptop Arts Association middle school reception. The high school reception will be held this Saturday, April 5 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Spring is here! A time for birds to sing and flowers to bloom and that’s not all. There seems to be a lot of things blooming at the Sharptop Arts Center.  We just thought we would give you an update on what’s happening.

With elections being held this past month we have a new board. I am please to announce,

Michal Brock-President, Ellen Minion_Vice President, Sharon Eng-Secretary, and Richard Carlton, Stearns Bank – Treasurer.  We are very fortunate to have their business and artistic capabilities to move forward in growing Sharptop Arts.

On another note, Youth Art Month is drawing to a close. If you haven’t visited to see the artwork of our youth, you better hurry up. The high school exhibit is still on display with the artists’ reception being April 5th, 2:00-4:00.  The art talent is absolutely outstanding with some works even being purchased.  Don’t miss out, be sure to visit and see for yourself.

Sharptop Arts will be hosting the second ‘Wednesday Brunch’ on April 9th.  Members and non-members are welcome to attend. Jessica Bowers, P.C. CoPilots will be giving a presentation of using Social Media. A light brunch will be served. This event takes place at the Sharptop Arts Center 11:30- 1:30. Reservations are requested by calling or emailing the art center. A donation of $5.00(Members) or $10.00 (Non-members) can be made at the door.  We hope to see you there.

Sharptop Visionary Gardens need YOU!  With the crazy weather we have had during the past year, our Garden needs a little TLC! I you can spare a few hours, we would like to get a group together Thursday, April 17 or Friday, April 18 to work in the garden. The need to cut back overgrown and dead ground cover, prune ornamental grass, prune perennials and pull or spray weeds is great.  Be sure to come equipped with gloves and your favorite garden tool. Please contact the Art Center if you can help. We would appreciate seeing your smiling faces in our garden.

Yes, I mentioned that spring is here. With that said, Sharptop will be hosting ‘Spring Showers bring May Flowers’ exhibit. This exhibit will begin April 25 with the Artists’ Reception. If you are an artist and would like to display your art you must register by April 4th with delivery the week of April 21. More information can be found at www.sharptopartsassociation.org.
