$38 coffee start-up thinks big

“It’s time that business owners in Pickens County know what’s going on in New York City,” Georgia Bean Roasters owner says

Georgia Bean Roasters owner Brain Cain pours a batch of “Stop the Press,” a special blend he created for the Progress.

Pickens resident Brian Cain opens a plastic baggy filled with Eight O’Clock brand coffee beans and asks me to take a whiff.
The co-owner and CEO of Nelson-based Georgia Bean Roasters then pulls out a 1/2 pound bag of a special blend named “Stop the Press” – which he created specifically for the interview – and asks me to do the same thing.
As you might expect there was no comparison between the mass-produced beans and the small-batch, gourmet coffee he roasted in his basement earlier that day.
