Jasper Farmers’ Market
This Saturday, Dec. 21, will be a great opportunity to shop local, supporting both the Downtown Merchants and the Jasper Farmers’ Market vendors when they come together on Main Street. The vendors’ sales hours are from 9:30 to 1:30 (vendors should arrive on or shortly after 9). The Main
Street shops will have their regular Saturday hours. Have breakfast and/or lunch at one of the downtown restaurants, before, after or in between shopping (or maybe instead of if you are a non-shopping husband).
We are working together to provide the best shopping experience in Jasper. A small portion of Main Street will be closed, but side streets and some parking on Main Street will be available as will the access to the private lot next to the Pickens Progress building and they will allow parking while the Market is going on.
Past, present and potential vendors are welcome to show up and sell the things you have made, grown, recorded, painted, baked, assembled or otherwise created. Performing artists are welcome to come and preform. There are some restrictions so you might want to call first if you are not sure. The Master Gardener website is www.pick ensmg.org; the County Extension Office is 706-253-8840.
The Jasper Farmers’ Market is an ongoing community service project of the Pickens Master Gardeners. You are invited to attend the Market Planning Meeting on Jan. 29 at the Pickens County Administration Building, 10 a.m.
Anyone wanting to sell eggs at the Market needs a candling license. Classes are planed for early next year. Call the above number for information.
