Make a wreath, help raise money for local art community
Submitted by Sharptop Arts Association
Get in the mood for the holidays with Sharptop Arts Association’s wreath-making workshop and help us with our holiday fundraiser while doing it!
We are holding two free wreath-making workshops, Friday, Nov. 1 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, Nov 2 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. We are inviting you to come out and put good use to those Christmas decorations that end up sitting in boxes. Bring them – or any items you want to use in your wreath - to the workshop and our experienced florists will help you make two beautiful wreaths. Kay Bruce will be assisting guests on Friday and Marty Farrow will be assisting on Saturday.
We are asking that your bring two base wreaths to decorate – one for you and one to donate to our holiday fundraiser/silent auction that will be held during the member show on November 15. Let’s make this a fun time for all! Bring your friends and come one day or both, drop in and stay for as long as you’d like.
Here’s what you’ll need to bring:
•Base wreaths of straw, grape vine, greens, etc.
•Ribbon to cover the wreath or to make bows.
•Decorations: Pine Cones, bells, holly, Santas, balls, or anything you no longer use.
•Wire and wire cutter/hot glue gun (we will have a few, but if you want your own be sure to bring them).
•Ornament hangers (if you would like to make ornaments instead).
