Come to Chattahoochee Technical College in Jasper on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Sept. 4, 5 and 6, and take your pick from more than 10,000 books, all priced $1 or less. The Friends of the Pickens Library are putting on their annual Pickens Community Book Sale. Money from the sale goes to help the Pickens Library purchase books and materials.

Since September 2012, your friends and neighbors in the Pickens community have been donating books. Donna Harrington, the library manager, and her staff have looked over each donated book. They search for books they need to help keep the library well supplied.
The Friends of the Library expect hundreds of avid readers to take advantage of this opportunity to purchase books for all age groups. Hardbacks are $1 and paperbacks are 50¢. All children’s books are 25¢.
If you want to get a head start, join the Friends of the Library and attend the members only sale on Thursday afternoon at 4 p.m. Yes, you can join at the door.
Individuals and families can join the Friends for $15 and $30. Student memberships are $5. The Friends of the Pickens Library is a 501(3)(c) corporation, and your membership fees may qualify as a tax deduction.
