Sharptop Arts association is encouraging performers to come out, brave the microphone and showcase their talents this Saturday, July 20.
Performers of all ages and genres are invited to sign up for up to 10 minutes of stage time.
This month Tate Mountain Estates resident Nigel Wright will be the featured musician. Last year Wright, who is signed on the Butterfly Collectors label, toured Germany on his debut album Millfoil and is gering up to release Smaller Things Than Stones under the same label.
Wright is a singer/songwriter very much influenced by Bon Iver and Eleanor Murray; his music is atmospheric and filed with open space.
The show begins at 7 p.m. at the arts center on D.B. Carroll Street in Jasper. Sign-up for open mic starts at 6:30 p.m. At this time SAA is unable to accommodate full bands that include drum kits. Acts must be able to set up and break down quickly. Sign ups are first come first serve. To be fair to everyone, no signups will be taken before the day of the show and it is asked that you keep your content PG-13.
Cost is $3 at the door.
Light refreshments will be available.
