The Pickens County 4-H Club SAFE (shotgun) Team has challenged area law enforcement groups to trap shoot out Saturday at the sheriff’s firing range on Jones Mountain.
Accepting their challenge are agents from the City of Jasper, Pickens sheriff, Georgia Game and Fish, Nelson Police and the State Patrol. Around 20 law officers will be competing and the adults had better be on their game as the local 4-H team has turned in impressive scores all season with their shotguns.
The Challenge at High Noon is a fundraiser for the 4-H club.
A donation of $5 is asked for all adults coming to watch the shooting and a chance to win $100 along with other prizes at a raffle.
The gate will open at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday and the competition will begin at high noon. Refreshments will be available and make sure to bring a chair.
“We hope everyone can come out and have fun,” said organizer Lonnie Waters.
The Sheriff’s Training Range is on Yukon Road. If you have any questions you can contact Waters at 706-299-0139.
