Just one more Saturday before the Jasper Farmers Market closes for the 2012 season and as usual we will close with a party to say thank you to all of our vendors and customers. There will be plenty of food and friendship but it will still be a market day with vegetables and crafts for sale.
This Saturday the Pattersons were there with a huge amount of turnips, green tomatoes and of course, turnip greens. This cool but not yet frosted weather has been good for the fall crops so be sure and take advantage of this last opportunity to shop for farm fresh produce. And you might even find some Christmas gift ideas among the craft vendors.
Come out and show your support for the Jasper Farmers Market and have some homemade goodies. This is your farmers market so if there is anything you would like to change or improve about the market plan to come to the winter planning meeting that will be held in January. Everyone is invited and we especially welcome all vendors and prospective vendors.
This market is sponsored by the Pickens County Master Gardeners and is run by volunteers so we count on community support. If your have questions or would like more information call the County Extension Office at 706-253-8840 or see the Master Gardeners web site at www.pickensmg.org.
