ATLANTA – Mega Millions is on a mega roll. After no one matched all the winning numbers in Friday’s drawing, Tuesday’s jackpot has jumped to an estimated $241 million.
Two Georgia Lottery players in Norcross and Kingsland each won $10,000 in Friday’s drawing. One player in Fairburn increased a $10,000 prize to $30,000 with the Megaplier option.
The Mega Millions jackpot has been growing since Jan. 27 and has rolled 15 times.
Mega Millions offers two jackpot payment options: approximately $9.2 million a year for 26 years with the annuity option; or a single payment worth approximately $171 million with the cash option.
Mega Millions tickets are $1 per play. Players can multiply prizes with the Megaplier option for an additional $1 per play.
As with all other Georgia Lottery games, proceeds from Mega Millions will benefit education in the state of Georgia.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $13.1 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.4 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.1 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
