Running on Empty Tour July 25 at Chattahoochee Tech will look at gas prices

By Nancy Davis

Tea Party Publicity

$7,888,608.48 --- This is how much extra money Americans have had to spend since the cost of gasoline has increased from $1.08 to $3.50 per gallon in the past three years!  The Pickens County Tea Party is proud to host the Americans for Prosperity's RUNNING ON EMPTY TOUR in response to the administrations famous quote, "Energy prices will necessarily skyrocket".

This tour, which has been in Kansas, Ohio, Minnesota, Missouri, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Nebraska, is trying to educate the public on what can be done through executive action to bring down the cost of fuel and restore stability in the market.  Citizens will be able to see how much their own gas bill has gone up.  They can calculate the impact of the administrations energy policies and see how overregulation of the industry has affected them personally.

In other words, how bad energy policies, overregulation by the EPA and other government agencies, and politics has blocked domestic production and left Americans RUNNING ON EMPTY.  Empty tank policies like illegal moratoriums on drilling after the Gulf accident, canceling existing oil and gas leases, locking up lands in the west and north, and EPA's job-crushing regulations will be examined.

So come join the Americans for Prosperity team on July 25th at Chattahoochee Technical College in Jasper at 7 p.m. for the Pickens County Tea Party meeting to learn what you can do to block and stop this key drain on the economy

I think I can do the calculating myself. I doubt the tea-party knows the "real" reasons why gas has gone up anymore than anyone else. I will have to pass on this event, don't need another group trying to push their views upon me.

Glad the tea party is doing this. Many will be suprised that this is much more than supply and demand. I bet Thomas and Liz went right along with Pelosi when she claimed prices went up because of "two oilmen in the White House" As for the KKK comment.....whe n does the race card get retired?

Let's see .....whites make up about 80% of the population which means the "whites" voted Obama in. So exactly why is it still needed?

White alone
of which 26.7 million are White Hispanic and Latino Americans, see table below.
Excluding these, this category comprises 63.7% or 196.8 million 223,553,265 72.4%
Black or African American alone 38,929,319 12.6%
Some other race alone
Mestizo, Mulatto 19,107,368 6.2%
Asian alone 14,674,252 4.8%
Two or more races 9,009,073 2.9%
American Indian or Alaska Native alone 2,932,248 0.9%
Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander alone 540,013 0.2%
Total 308,745,538 100.0%
42 million of this country are independent.
55 million of this country are republican
77 million of this country are democrats.
take into account 55 million voters assuredly did not vote for Obama
add at least 20 million independent
that means that 75 million people did not vote for him.

That's about half the country Jeep. so not only did 80% of the population not vote for him it mean you are just spouting rhetoric to try to rile people up. Instead you just made yourself look foolish.

I stand corrected. You do have the most current numbers. Yes 1/2 of hispanics consider themselves white. The others are split between the other groups. Fact is Obama got about the same percentage of white votes as Clinton did. If people were NOT voting for him because of his skin color this would have dropped! Can we put the race card to rest now??

note how I will admit when I'm wrong.....
