Pets of the Week for October 24, 2013

A donation to Pickens Animal Rescue or Animal Shelter of Pickens County in someone’s name would make a wonderful birthday, anniversary, or special occasion present. All donations go to help the pets.  Donations are accepted every day at the Shelter and the PAR Rescued Furniture Store.

If you are looking for a loyal and fun companion, a buddy for one of your pets, someone to talk to, take rides with, or hold in your lap, please consider one of the following pets who need a forever home to fill with laughter and love:

Volunteers are welcome and needed.  Please stop by the Shelter and sign up for a time and activity to help with the animals.  They and the staff appreciate it.

The Adoption Fees are $70.00 for cats and dogs.  The adoption fee includes shots, micro chipping, spay and neutering.  Find out more about adopting pets at The Shelter at or:

Hi, we are Zoe and Zarina, Bassett Hound mix female puppies. I am Zoe, the spokesperson for us and my name means “Life”.   Zarina means “Golden”.  So together, our names mean, “Golden Life”.  We are named that because we were near death when some good people brought us to the Shelter.  But whippee!  We recovered just fine and now we are full of fun and playfulness.  Life would really be golden for us and for you if you gave us forever homes.  We only weigh about five pounds so snuggling and playing with us is real easy.   Please come visit us and our friends at The Shelter.  We are all looking for forever homes.  Visiting hours are 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM Tuesdays through Saturday. No appointment is required.  If you can, please donate cleaning materials, pet food, and pet supplies to the Shelter.

Find out more about pets available at PAR for adoption at  or at 706-692-2772.  The adoption fee is $100 for dogs and $75 for cats and includes, micro-chipping, spay/neutering and all shots.

Hi!  I am a Doodles, a male black and white Terrier Mix.  I walk well on a leash, and I am very happy.  I show it by wagging my tail a lot.  I was found on a logging road near a farm and brought to the PAR Ranch.  I am glad to be here with these nice people who care for me but I am looking for a forever home.  Maybe with you?  I am less than a year old and would love to have you teach me commands and tricks as I am young and eager to learn from you.  In addition to being happy, I am healthy, well-adjusted and smart.   I hope you will come visit me soon at the PAR Ranch.   I have many dog and cat friends here. We are all ready to fill someone’s home and life with love, companionship, and fun.  You can see more pictures of all of us on or

All the animals at the PAR Ranch are healthy, happy, spayed or neutered, and current on all their shots. Visiting hours are by appointment only Tuesday through Friday from 1:00 PM to 4:00PM.   Appointments are not needed on Saturday when adoptions are open from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
