Pets of the Week for August 29

A donation to Pickens Animal Rescue or Animal Shelter of Pickens County in someone’s name would make a wonderful birthday, anniversary, or special occasion present. All donations go to help the pets.  Donations are accepted every day at the Shelter and the PAR Rescued Furniture Store.

Bring your pets to The Animal Shelter of Pickens County to be micro-chipped for only $25 and to get Distemper shots for $15.

If you are looking for a loyal and fun companion, a buddy for one of your pets, someone to talk to, take rides with, or hold in your lap, please consider one of the following pets who need a forever home to fill with laughter and love:

Volunteer days are every Saturday. Please come out to walk the dogs, talk to the cats and have fun with all the animals.

The Adoption Fees are $70.00 for dogs and $60.00 for cats.  The adoption fee includes shots, micro chipping, spay and neutering.  Find out more about adopting pets at The Shelter at or:

I am Scarlett, a special female Treeing Walker Coonhound. I have had training and point and pose well on a leash.  In fact I am a bit of a professional model and like to have photos of my profile made.  I weigh about 50 pounds and I am approximately 18 months old. I am so pretty and smart that I am sure we would be best friends if you gave me a home.  Please come visit me and my friends at The Shelter.  We are all looking for forever homes.  Visiting hours are 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM Tuesdays through Saturday. No appointment is required.  If you can, please donate cleaning materials, pet food, and pet supplies to the Shelter.

Find out more about pets available at PAR for adoption at  or at 706-692-2772.  The adoption fee is $100 for dogs and $75 for cats and includes, micro-chipping, spay/neutering and all shots.

Hi, I am Petey, a one and a half year old, male bull dog mix.  I am kennel trained and weight about 35 pounds. I get along well with other dogs and I am sweet and calm. Plus I have a very nice curly tail that makes me proud. I hurt my leg and the nice people here at the PAR Ranch fixed it so I am all better now and ready to fill a home with love and laughter; maybe yours?   I hope you will come visit me soon at the PAR Ranch.   I have lots of dog and cat friends here. We are all ready to fill someone’s home and life with love, companionship, and fun.  You can see more pictures of all of us on or

All the animals at the PAR Ranch are healthy, happy, spayed or neutered, and current on all their shots. Visiting hours are by appointment only Tuesday through Friday from 1:00 PM to 4:00PM.   Appointments are not needed on Saturday when adoptions are open from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
