Pets of the Week for August 28

BY:  B. JOAN WILSON
A donation to Pickens Animal Rescue or Animal Shelter of Pickens County in someone’s name would make a wonderful birthday, anniversary, memorial or special occasion present and would help make sure no Buddy is left behind. All donations go to help the pets.  Donations are accepted every day at the Shelter and the PAR Rescued Furniture Store.
If you are looking for a loyal and fun companion, a buddy for one of your pets, someone to talk to, take rides with, or hold in your lap, please consider one of the following pets who need a forever home to fill with laughter and love:
THE PICKENS COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER
Volunteers are welcome and needed.  Please stop by the Shelter and sign up for a time and activity to help with the animals.  They and the staff appreciate it.
The Adoption Fees are $100.00 for kittens and dogs.  Some adult cats are free to a qualified home; see Judy for details.  The adoption fee includes shots and spay or neutering.  Find out more about adopting pets at The Shelter at www.petango.com or:
3563 Camp Road
Jasper, GA 30148
706-253-8983

Due to some generous patrons who have prepaid the adoption fees, the Pickens Animal Control Shelter has several cats that are free to qualified homes. And currently there is a two for one special on kittens.  Adopt two and pay only one adoption fee – twice the love and fun for the same low fee.  See Judy at the Shelter for details.

JANET-female, four year old, terrier mix dog
Hello, I Janet, a refined, reserved, and attractive lady.  I am a little shy, but I like to play with other dogs and would do well with another pet.  I am house trained and ready for a new home where I can share love and happiness with a special person or family. Of course I am beautiful on the outside as well as on the inside.   My black and white short hair coat glistens in the sun and is easy to keep clean. I hope you will come visit me and all my friends at the PAR Ranch.
We are all waiting to find a home that we can fill with love, companionship, and fun.  You can see more pictures of all of us on www.petfinder.com.
All the animals at the PAR Ranch are healthy, happy, spayed or neutered, and current on all their shots. Visiting hours are Tuesday through Friday from 1:00 PM to 4:00PM and Saturdays 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.  Appointments are not required.
The Annual Fur Ball is September 20, 2014.  Tickets are available at $35 each at PAWS on Main and the PAR Rescue Furniture Store next door to PAWS.

BRAD – Golden Retriever Mix, one-year-old, male dog

Hi, I am Brad.  Actually I was named Brad Pitt, for obvious reasons.  I am very handsome like my namesake.  I have pretty markings with a short reddish brown coat and a white blaze on my chest.  My personality is also beautiful.  I am sweet and easy going, I love to snuggle, I make friends easily, and the people here at the Shelter say I would make a really great family pet.  I weigh about 25 pounds; perfect lap and ‘going for rides’ size.     It would be great if we could meet each other, I am sure it would be instant love.   Please come visit the County Shelter and see all the great cats and dogs here.

Visiting hours are 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM Tuesdays through Fridays and 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturday. No appointment is required.  If you can, please donate cleaning materials, pet food, and pet supplies to the Shelter.

COCO—Three month old, terrier mix, female puppy

Hi, I am Coco, a soft, pretty, cuddly, puppy looking for a forever home.  I have a black and tan coat with four white feet that make me look like I am walking on clouds.  My brother, Charlie, is also here at the PAR Ranch waiting for a home.   We have a special Mom; you may have read about her.   She is so loving she not only nursed us and a sibling of ours, but she also nursed a litter of kittens! With her genes we have to be very special puppies.   We hope you will come visit us and all our friends at the PAR Ranch.

We are all waiting to find a home that we can fill with love, companionship, and fun.  You can see more pictures of all of us on www.petfinder.com.
