FOUR LEGGED LOVE
BY: B. JOAN WILSON
A donation to Pickens Animal Rescue or Animal Shelter of Pickens County in someone’s name would make a wonderful birthday, anniversary, memorial or special occasion present and would help make sure no Buddy is left behind. All donations go to help the pets. Donations are accepted every day at the Shelter and the PAR Rescued Furniture Store.
If you are looking for a loyal and fun companion, a buddy for one of your pets, someone to talk to, take rides with, or hold in your lap, please consider one of the following pets who need a forever home to fill with laughter and love:
THE ANIMAL SHELTER OF PICKENS COUNTY (THE SHELTER)
Volunteers are welcome and needed. Please stop by the Shelter and sign up for a time and activity to help with the animals. They and the staff appreciate it.
The Adoption Fees are $100.00 for kittens and dogs. Some adult cats are free to a qualified home; see Judy for details. The adoption fee includes shots and spay or neutering. Find out more about adopting pets at The Shelter at www.petango.com or:
3563 Camp Road
Jasper, GA 30148
Due to some generous patrons who have prepaid the adoption fees, the Pickens Animal Control Shelter has several cats that are free to qualified homes. And currently there is a two for one special on kittens. Adopt two and pay only one adoption fee – twice the love and fun for the same low fee. See Judy at the Shelter for details.
SABRINA LUCY – one year old, Boxer mix, female dog
Hi, I am Sabrina Lucy, a statuesque beauty with short brown and white hair and warm brown eyes. I am very smart, in fact I was seeking higher education when someone found me trying to board a school bus and brought me to the County Shelter. I was very fearful at first, but now I have gotten my confidence back and am ready for a forever home. I do need a lot of attention from my person as I want to be with people full time. That makes me very anxious to please and I am good at obeying. I respond to love and praise more than treats when I am learning new tricks. I am also a great athlete; I love to run and climb, but I come back to my person when he or she calls me. The Shelter people say I can run like a greyhound. I hope we can meet soon, please come visit me at the Shelter.
There are lots of great dogs and cats at the Animal Shelter of Pickens County looking for forever homes. Visiting hours are 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM Tuesdays through Fridays and 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturday. No appointment is required. If you can, please donate cleaning materials, pet food, and pet supplies to the Shelter.
PICKENS ANIMAL RESCUE (PAR)
Find out more about pets available at PAR for adoption at www.pickensanimalrescue.org or at 706-692-2772. The adoption fee is $100 for dogs and $75 for cats and includes, micro-chipping, spay/neutering and all shots.
LORETTA – two year old female Coonhound, Treeing Walker mix
Hello, I am Loretta, a sweet and lovely lady looking for a special person and home. I have a tan and white coat and a really big heart. I was left in an abandoned house to have my puppies. I did a good job of raising them and they are all healthy and happy. Now I am ready to find my forever home. I like to have my picture taken and to play tug of war with other dogs. I am serious about my job of protecting my person. I would be a great companion and best friend. I weigh about 52 pounds and each pound is full of love.
Won’t you come visit me and my friends at the PAR Rescue Ranch? I have many dog and cat friends here that are also ready to fill someone’s home and life with love, companionship, and fun. You can see more pictures of all of us on www.petfinder.com.
All the animals at the PAR Ranch are healthy, happy, spayed or neutered, and current on all their shots. Visiting hours are Tuesday through Friday from 1:00 PM to 4:00PM and Saturdays 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Appointments are not required.
