A donation to Pickens Animal Rescue or Animal Shelter of Pickens County in someone’s name would make a wonderful birthday, anniversary, memorial or special occasion present and would help make sure no Buddy is left behind. All donations go to help the pets.  Donations are accepted every day at the Shelter and the PAR Rescued Furniture Store.
If you are looking for a loyal and fun companion, a buddy for one of your pets, someone to talk to, take rides with, or hold in your lap, please consider one of the following pets who need a forever home to fill with laughter and love:

Volunteers are welcome and needed.  Please stop by the Shelter and sign up for a time and activity to help with the animals.  They and the staff appreciate it.

Due to some generous patrons who have prepaid the adoption fees, the Pickens County Animal Shelter has several cats that are free to qualified homes. And currently there is a two for one special on kittens.  Adopt two and pay only one adoption fee – twice the love and fun for the same low fee.  See Judy at the Shelter for details.

BARNEY – two-year-old bullmastiff mix male dog
Hello, I am Barney; a big handsome tough looking guy.  But actually I am a low key laid back gentle giant.  I like to spend my time hanging out and people watching.  I weigh about 80 pounds and have a beautiful brindle coat.  I am crate trained and would love to go for walks with a mature person. Of course I am looking for a forever home – maybe yours?  We could take care of each other. I would be very loving, loyal and faithful to you.      I hope you will visit me soon at the Pickens County Animal Shelter, All the dogs and cats here are waiting for homes they can fill with love and laughter.

Visiting hours are 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM Tuesdays through Fridays and 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturday. No appointment is required.  If you can, please donate cleaning materials, pet food, and pet supplies to the Shelter.

DIEGO – four-month-old Chihuahua mix male dog
Hi, I am Diego, the perfect lap dog.   I am small; I weigh about six pounds, and I love to be held.  When I am in your arms, my ears perk up to let you know how happy that makes me.   The people here at the Pickens Animal Rescue Ranch say I am sweet, playful, and get along well with other dogs.  I would only add that I am pretty cute also.   I have a short tan coat that match my bright, happy eyes.  The only thing missing from my life is a forever home where I can share lots of love and good times with everyone. 
I hope you will come visit me and all my friends at the PAR Ranch. We are all waiting to find a home that we can fill with love, companionship, and fun.  You can see more pictures of all of us on www.petfinder.com.

JET—one year old boxer mix male dog
I am Jet, a very active and playful boxer mix young dog.  I like to play with toys and I am already house trained.  My people moved away and couldn’t take me with them so I am now waiting here at the Pickens County Animal Shelter for what will be my forever home.   I am very nice looking with a bronze and brown brindle coat and a perfect white patch on my chest; and I have a nice gentle personality. I would be very loyal and appreciative of a home that I can fill with love and laughter. I hope you will come visit me soon at the Pickens County Animal Shelter.  All the dogs and cats here need forever homes they can fill with love and laughter.

NICOLE –Australian cattle dog mix female puppy
Hi, I am Nicole, a pretty girl with apricot and white coat with the gray spots of an Australian cattle dog.  And I have a beautiful brown eye and an even more beautiful blue eye – quite striking!  I am about six months old and very happy.   The only thing missing from my life is a forever home where I can share lots of love and good times with everyone.  Oh, by the way, I have two brothers here at the Pickens Animal Rescue Ranch.  They are handsome with black and white coats.

SILVERADO – one-year-old golden retriever mix male dog
Hello, I am Silverado, a sweet,  and playful dog with a beautiful tan and white coat.  I know some commands, like “sit” and am eager to learn more from my special person.  I am an Alpha dog and like to play as long as I can be the captain of the team.  We could be best buddies.  I would be very loyal and very appreciative of a forever home. LIBBY – year old black retriever mix female dog
Hi, I am Libby a wonderful, smart, and beautiful dog.  I have been a family pet and am house trained.   I will shake paws with you and sit when you ask me to.  I am anxious to please and I like walking on a leash and would make an excellent companion.   My shiny black coat sets me off as a very pretty lady.  Will you come visit me at the PAR Ranch?  We could be best friends and I would fill your home with love, laughter and fun.
