Pets of the Week for November 27, 2014

FOUR LEGGED LOVE
11-26-14
BY:  JOAN WILSON-GORDON
A tax deductible donation to Pickens Animal Rescue or Animal Shelter of Pickens County in someone’s name would make a wonderful Christmas, birthday, anniversary, memorial or special occasion present and would help make sure no Buddy is left behind. And while giving thanks for all your blessings, how about helping the homeless pets have a nice Thanksgiving with a donation of supplies, food, or money?  It would make a difference in the lives of the animals. All donations go to help the pets.  Donations are accepted every day at the Shelter and the PAR Rescued Furniture Store.
If you are looking for a loyal and fun companion, a buddy for one of your pets, someone to talk to, take rides with, or hold in your lap, please consider one of the following pets who need a forever home to fill with laughter and love:
THE PICKENS COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER (THE SHELTER)
Volunteers are welcome and needed.  Please stop by the Shelter and sign up for a time and activity to help with the animals.  They and the staff appreciate it.
The Adoption Fee is $100.00 for dogs.  Most cats and kittens are free to qualified homes.  Check with the directors for details.   The adoption fee includes shots and spay or neutering.  Find out more about adopting pets at The Shelter at www.petango.com or:

MATILDA –Finnish spitz mix, female dog
Hello, I am Matilda, a gentle, thoughtful, intelligent dog.  My coat is a pretty red-sandy color with white highlights.  I am a perfect age and weight: at four years old I have lost my puppy mischievousness but I am still a young lady that can give you many years of happiness; and my 55 pounds make me the right size for long walks, rides to the store, or occasionally cuddling in your lap.   I bet we could be buddies and best friends.

I hope you will meet me and visit all my dog and cat friends here at the Pickens County Animal Control Shelter.  We are all looking for a forever home to fill with love and laughter.

Visiting hours are 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM Tuesdays through Fridays and 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturday. No appointment is required.  If you can, please donate cleaning materials, pet food, and pet supplies to the Shelter.

PICKENS ANIMAL RESCUE (PAR)
Find out more about pets available at PAR for adoption at www.pickensanimalrescue.org  or at 706-692-2772.  The adoption fee is $150 for dogs and $100 for cats and includes, micro-chipping, spay/neutering and all shots.

MINNIE—a lady plott hound mix dog
Hello, I Minnie, a trim young lady with beautiful markings that enhance my dark coat.  I have quite a story as I was once a feral dog.  The kind people at PAR took me in from the harsh weather and dangers of being on my own and worked to “socialize” me.  They describe me as now being “a really great dog” that would be a wonderful addition to someone’s home.  I am one year old and ready to make a special person very happy.
It would be great to meet you.  I hope you will come visit me and all my friends at the PAR Ranch. We are all waiting to find a home that we can fill with love, companionship, and fun.  You can see more pictures of all of us on www.petfinder.com.
All the animals at the PAR Ranch are healthy, happy, spayed or neutered, and current on all their shots. Visiting hours are Tuesday through Friday from 1:00 PM to 4:00PM and Saturdays 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.  Appointments are not required.
