Pet of the Week for November 13, 2014;

FOUR LEGGED LOVE
11-12-14
BY:  JOAN WILSON-GORDON
A donation to Pickens Animal Rescue or Animal Shelter of Pickens County in someone’s name would make a wonderful birthday, anniversary, memorial or special occasion present and would help make sure no Buddy is left behind. And don’t forget those coin jars you throw your spare change into.  It adds up and could make a difference in the lives of some animals. All donations go to help the pets.  Donations are accepted every day at the Shelter and the PAR Rescued Furniture Store.
If you are looking for a loyal and fun companion, a buddy for one of your pets, someone to talk to, take rides with, or hold in your lap, please consider one of the following pets who need a forever home to fill with laughter and love:
THE PICKENS COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER (THE SHELTER)
Volunteers are welcome and needed.  Please stop by the Shelter and sign up for a time and activity to help with the animals.  They and the staff appreciate it.
The Adoption Fees are $100.00 for kittens and dogs.  Some adult cats are free to a qualified home; see Judy for details.  The adoption fee includes shots and spay or neutering.  Find out more about adopting pets at The Shelter at www.petango.com or:
3563 Camp Road
Jasper, GA 30148
706-253-8983

Due to some generous patrons who have prepaid the adoption fees, the Pickens County Animal Shelter has several cats that are free to qualified homes. And currently there is a two for one special on kittens.  Adopt two and pay only one adoption fee – twice the love and fun for the same low fee.  See Judy at the Shelter for details.

KAWASAKI—The “Love Bug”
Hi, I am Kawasaki, a two month old, black male kitty and a real lover.   They call me the “love bug because I like to be loved so much I start purring as soon as someone walks towards me.   I know they will just have to pick me up and love on me.  I am also very handsome with my black fur that is set off by a lighter shade of black triangle on my chest.   Best of all, my adoption fee has been waived so I am free to a good home.

I hope you will come visit me and all my dog and cat friends here at the Pickens County Animal Control Shelter.  Everyone is looking for a forever home to fill with love and laughter.

Visiting hours are 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM Tuesdays through Fridays and 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturday. No appointment is required.  If you can, please donate cleaning materials, pet food, and pet supplies to the Shelter.

PICKENS ANIMAL RESCUE (PAR)
Find out more about pets available at PAR for adoption at www.pickensanimalrescue.org  or at 706-692-2772.  The adoption fee is $150 for dogs and $100 for cats and includes, micro-chipping, spay/neutering and all shots.

SOX –a grey and white domestic shorthair male cat
Hello, I am Sox a lean good-looking mature cat.  I enjoy attention—when I am in the mood for it.  My other favorite pastime is “sunning” on a warm porch or chair.   It is so nice to soak up some rays on a fall afternoon.  Now I am looking for a forever home where I can relax in the sun and provide some love and laughter.
It would be great to meet you.  I hope you will come visit me and all my friends at the PAR Ranch. We are all waiting to find a home that we can fill with love, companionship, and fun.  You can see more pictures of all of us on www.petfinder.com.
All the animals at the PAR Ranch are healthy, happy, spayed or neutered, and current on all their shots. Visiting hours are Tuesday through Friday from 1:00 PM to 4:00PM and Saturdays 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.  Appointments are not required.
