Pets of the Week for October 30, 2014

FOUR LEGGED LOVE
10-29-14
BY:  JOAN WILSON-GORDON
A donation to Pickens Animal Rescue or Animal Shelter of Pickens County in someone’s name would make a wonderful birthday, anniversary, memorial or special occasion present and would help make sure no Buddy is left behind. All donations go to help the pets.  Donations are accepted every day at the Shelter and the PAR Rescued Furniture Store.
If you are looking for a loyal and fun companion, a buddy for one of your pets, someone to talk to, take rides with, or hold in your lap, please consider one of the following pets who need a forever home to fill with laughter and love:
THE PICKENS COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER (THE SHELTER)
Volunteers are welcome and needed.  Please stop by the Shelter and sign up for a time and activity to help with the animals.  They and the staff appreciate it.
The Adoption Fees are $100.00 for kittens and dogs.  Some adult cats are free to a qualified home; see Judy for details.  The adoption fee includes shots and spay or neutering.  Find out more about adopting pets at The Shelter at www.petango.com or:
3563 Camp Road
Jasper, GA 30148
706-253-8983

Due to some generous patrons who have prepaid the adoption fees, the Pickens County Animal Shelter has several cats that are free to qualified homes. And currently there is a two for one special on kittens.  Adopt two and pay only one adoption fee – twice the love and fun for the same low fee.  See Judy at the Shelter for details.

ROCKY-one year old, American bulldog/wheaten mix male dog
Hi, I am Rocky a very photogenic and patriotic guy.  Even though I am a big fellow (I weigh 50 pounds) I am a loving lap dog.  I get along well with puppies and high energy dogs.   I like camping, hiking, and an active lifestyle.  I need a family to do all these things with and a big back yard. But most of all I am looking for companionship and a forever home.

I hope you will come visit me and all my dog and cat friends here at the Pickens County Animal Control Shelter.  Everyone is looking for a forever home to fill with love and laughter.

Visiting hours are 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM Tuesdays through Fridays and 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturday. No appointment is required.  If you can, please donate cleaning materials, pet food, and pet supplies to the Shelter.

PICKENS ANIMAL RESCUE (PAR)

DAISY – five year old basset hound female dog
Hi, I am Daisy, a really special dog.  The people here at the PAR Ranch say I would be good with any type family or home.  I guess that means I am adaptable as well as adoptable. I am house trained and I walk well on a leash.   And I look pretty cool with my tan and white coat and freckled nose.  I am pretty selective when it comes to my canine friends and some dogs I just do not like.  But, I do like a lot of special attention from my person or persons.
It would be great to meet you.  I hope you will come visit me and all my friends at the PAR Ranch. We are all waiting to find a home that we can fill with love, companionship, and fun.  You can see more pictures of all of us on www.petfinder.com.
All the animals at the PAR Ranch are healthy, happy, spayed or neutered, and current on all their shots. Visiting hours are Tuesday through Friday from 1:00 PM to 4:00PM and Saturdays 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.  Appointments are not required.
