Elizabeth Parker
Mrs. Elizabeth Chandler Parker, age 85, of Marietta, Ga., died Monday, Nov. 15, 2010, at Morning Pointe Assisted Living Center in Calhoun, Ga. following a period of declining health.
Born and raised in Acworth, Ga., Mrs. Parker was a lifetime resident of Marietta. She was the daughter of the late Fed and Hattie Craven Chandler. Mrs. Parker was a lover of her grandchildren, animals, cooking and gardening. She was also a fan of camping and spending time in the Florida Keys. She was a member of the Powers Ferry United Methodist Church in Marietta.
Survivors include her husband, John Leslie Parker, Jr., Big Canoe; daughters, Ginger Collins-Gozer, Davie, Fl., Lisa Baynard, Rutherfordton, N.C., and Susan Jackson, Big Canoe; grandchildren, Aaran Collins, Reston, Va., Andrew Jackson, Meridian, Ms., Matthew Jackson, Willow Spring, N.C., Joel Baynard, Wake Forest, N.C., and Elizabeth Brown, Forest City, N.C.; 5 great-grandchildren; and brother, Ernest Chandler, Acworth, Ga.
A graveside service was held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 19 at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta with Dr. George Callahan and the Rev. Jeff Falkowski officiating. A Celebration of Life was held at noon Friday, Nov. 19 at Trinity Evangelical Church in Jasper, Ga. Ramon Melendez, Jr.
Mr. Ramon Melendez, Jr., age 79 of Jasper, Ga. and formerly of Tampa, Fl., died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper following a period of declining health.
Born June 24,1931 in Tampa, he was the son of the late Ramon, Sr. and Maria Barrido Melendez. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Alonso Melendez.
Mr. Melendez was a veteran of the U.St. Marine Corp, having served during the Korean Conflict. He was owner/operator of Caf' Toni in Tampa.
Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, Deborah and Mark Darst, Tampa, and Donna Pitsokos, Jasper; grandchildren, Richard Valdes, Roland Moreno, and Natalie Valdes, all of Tampa, and Erika Pitsokos, Jasper; sisters, Carmen Crum, Tampa, Emilia Gallegti, Brandon, Fl., and Helen Melendez, New York; and brother, Robert Melendez, New York.
At his request, Mr. Melendez was cremated and a private family service will be held at a later date. Roper Funeral Home of Jasper was in charge of the arrangements.

Nola Waddell
Nola Jean ?Jeannie? (Herron) Waddell, age 78 of Louisville, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010 at her home.
Jean was a loving wife, mom and grandmother to her family and substitute mom for many others. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Carl, Jr.; daughter, Mary Beth; mother, Mary Kustes; and sister, Betty Conrad.
Survivors include her daughters, Terry Dunn (Jack) and Lisa Fulton (Dennis; granddaughter, Amanda Abbott (Jason); grandsons, Dereck and Brent Dunn and Aaron Sullivan; and great-granddaughter, Kaila Poole. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. from Owen Funeral Home with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society.
The family would like to thank everyone who loved and cared for Mom as much as we did, and for all the care CBC has given her over the years.

John Adams
Mr. John Franklin Adams, age 69 of Jasper, Ga., died Friday, Nov. 19, 2010 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital following a period of declining health. Born Jan. 23, 1941, in Quincy, Ma., he was the son of the late John Franklin, Sr. and Vera Wagner Adams. Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his daughter, Ms. Shelly Adams. He was employed by Hydrochem and was a member of Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. JoAnn Adams, Jasper; daughter, Heidi Amanda Adams Young, Orlando, Fl.; sisters, Janet Clemons, New Hampshire, and Joan Adams Woods, California; and granddaughter, Abigail Young, Orlando. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
The funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 23, from Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church in Jasper with Father Charles Byrd and Father Frank Richards officiating. Interment followed at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Georgia National Cemetery with military honors. Roper Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Big John Goble
Mr. Big John Goble, age 63 of the Ludville Community, passed away Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010 at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Goble, Ludville; brother, Jim Goble, Rome; half-sisters, Mary A. Long, Ludville, and Joann Young, Henderson Mountain; and grandchildren, Michael, Damon and Jimmy Young and Misty Booth. Five great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 23 from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Carter officiating. Interment followed at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Roy Wyman, James and Stetson Hayes, Loyd and Randall Harris, Jimmy and Michael Young and Luther Phillips. The family did accept flowers or donation to Cagle Funeral Home to help with the funeral expenses.

Johnny Mullinax
Mr. Johnny Mullinax, age 62 of Jasper, passed away Friday, Nov. 19, 2010 at his residence.
Survivors include his mother, Martha Mullinax, Jasper; daughters and son-in-law, Melissa and Chris Pittman, Jasper, and Jennifer Mullinax, New Orleans, La; sisters and brother-in-law, Shirley Fowler, Canton, and Karen and Ronnie Cantrell, Ellijay; and mother-in-law, Hazel Thurman, Jasper. Nieces and nephews also survive. Johnny was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Rose Mullinax; and father, Dillard Mullinax.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 22 from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Phillips and the Rev. Ronnie Ray officiating. Interment followed in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Ms. Cindy Jordan, age 30 of Jasper, passed Saturday afternoon, Nov. 13, 2010 in Jasper as the result of an auto accident.
Survivors include her mother and step-father, Gaye and Robbie Quinton, Talking Rock; father and step-mother, John T. and Anna Jordan, Monterey, Cal.; grandfather, Rudolph and Karin Teichmann; grandmother, Margret Graham, Chicago, Il., close family friend, Shawn McGill; grandparents, Patty and George McGill; daughter, Sophia Maree Jordan, Jasper; brother, Matthew Pike, Jasper; sisters, Renee Jordan Salters, Acworth, Lauren Borel, Alexandria, La., and Caroline and Emily Pike, both of Talking Rock; and nieces and nephews, Morgan and Nathan Salters and Bradyn Borel.
The funeral service was held Thursday, Nov. 18 at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with the Revs. Danny Townsend, Mack Riley and Angie Crummie officiating. Interment followed in Mozley Memorial Gardens in Lithia Springs with D.J. Morrow, Jimmy Caylor, David Hicks, Kerry Peyton, Herb Hand and Todd Darby serving as pallbearers.

Ada Buttrum
Mrs. Ada Mae Buttrum, age 79 of the Ludville Community, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010 at her granddaughter?s residence.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Diane Buttrum, Cullman, Al., and Larry and Lorie Buttrum, Ellijay; daughters, Louise Crook, Fairmount, and Diane Young, Ludville; and sister, Inez Hales, Jasper. Eleven grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Buttrum was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Buttrum; son, Tommy Buttrum; granddaughter, Miranda Mulkey; and sons-in-law, Jerry Crook and Elmo Young.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19 from Friendship Baptist Church with the Rev. Harold Cantrell officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were: Lonnie Davis, Ricky and Jason Young, David Chastain, Michael Neal and Jeff Crook. Honorary pallbearer was Tyrel Buttrum. Mr. Weldon Eaton, age 82 of Tate, passed away Monday, Nov. 15, 2010 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Elsie Mae Eaton, Tate; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Cathy Eaton, Tate; daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Melvin Watson, Shelly and Jerry Low and Sherry Sims and Marty Gayton, all of Tate; brothers and sisters-in-law, Auldon and Eula Eaton, Canton, Don and Bobby Jean Eaton, Macedonia, and Arnold and Mary Lou Eaton, Tate; sister and brother-in-law, Wilma and Truman Childers, Clayton; brother-in-law, Tommy Cantrell, Tate; grandchildren, Steven Watson, Kimberly Moody and Abby Sims; and great-grandchildren, Weston and Spencer Moody. Mr. Eaton was preceded in death by his sister, Thelma Cantrell.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17 from Free Hope Baptist Church with the Revs. Edwin Weaver, Autrey Dean and Randy Weaver officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were: Steven Watson, Bryan Moody, Dakota Smith, Harold Cantrell, Joey Jones, Harrison Estes and Andy Holden.
