Mr. Wyatt Millbocker, age 48 of Ellijay, passed away Monday, April 28, 2008. He was a member of New Beginning Family Church.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Millbocker, Ellijay; sons, Michael Buchanan, Talking Rock, and Jonathan Jeans, Jasper; daughters, Brittany Millbocker, Jasper, and Kristin and Paige Millbocker, both of Ellijay; father and mother-in-law, Richard and Joann Millbocker, Mobile, Al.; brother, Jeff Vaughn, Mobile; and sisters, Shelly Quillen and Sammie Evans, both of Michigan. Two grandchildren also survive.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 2 from Sosebee Memorial Chapel with the Revs. Steve Smith and Bob Smith officiating. Interment followed in the Lake Forest Memorial Park.
Ruth Hall, age 80 of Dawsonville, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at Embracing Hospice following an extended illness.
Born in Pickens County, Mrs. Hall moved from Cobb County to Dawson County 37 years ago. She spent over 41 years in banking. Thirty-five of those years were with Jasper Banking Company where she retired in 1990 as Head Cashier. She was a member of McKees Chapel United Methodist Church where she was active in the UMW and she enjoyed reading, travel and gardening. Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, W.J. Hall; parents, Andrew and Lula Jones; and a brother, Bill Jones.
Surviving are her sisters, Kate Bunch, Jasper, and Jewel Cribb, Marietta; brothers and sister-in-law, James J. Jones, Jasper, Gene and Ann Jones, Talking Rock; sisters-in-law, Gladiola Nickerson and Jimmie Chester, both of Dawsonville, and Virginia Jones, Jasper. Nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
The funeral service was held Thursday, May 1 at 2 p.m. from McKees Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sven Mossinger officiating. Interment followed in the Dawsonville City Cemetery. Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Sandra ?Sissy? Couch, age 41 of Canton, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2008 at her residence. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her husband, Mark Couch, Canton; sons, Dustin Flowers, Ball Ground, and Dylan Couch, Canton; daughter, Dee Dee Couch, Canton; father, Edley Whaley, Jr., Ball Ground; brothers, David Doddway, Canton, Dennis Cothran, South Carolina, Eddie Ray and Randy Whaley, Ball Ground; sisters, Kathy Cothran, South Carolina, Patti Kincaid, Canton, and Brenda Cook, Ball Ground. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 2 from Sosebee Memorial Chapel with the Revs. Doug Lusk and Eric Mayo officiating. Interment followed in Macedonia Memorial Park.
Miss Dora ?Pug? Maddox, age 65 of Canton, passed away Monday, April 28, 2008 at the Canton Nursing Home.
Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Barbara Maddox, Tate; and a niece, Sherry Maddox, Tate.
The funeral service was held Wednesday, April 30 at 2 p.m. from Sharptop Baptist Church with the Revs. Autry Dean, Joey DuBoise, Randy Weaver, Don Cagle and Edwin Weaver officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were: Greg Duncan, Jeff Jacobs, Brandon Duncan, Dwight King, Gerald Aaron and Eddie Goodwin. Mr. Larry Bruner, age 60 of Jasper, passed away Monday, April 28, 2008 at Heartland Hospice House in Cartersville.
Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Linda Bruner, Jasper; and sisters, Brenda Spence, Jasper, and Betty Jean and Huel Garrison, Talking Rock. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A graveside interment service was held Thursday, May 1 at 2 p.m. from Ball Ground City Cemetery with the Rev. Benny Clark officiating. Pallbearers were: Danny Kirk, Steve Schrader, James Merritt, Don Smith, Jr., David Strickland and Charles Jones. Cagle Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Greg White, age 53 of Tate, Ga., passed at his residence Tuesday, April 29, 2008.
Survivors include his mother,, Mary White, Jasper; brother, Scott White; and sister, Christina White. He was preceded in death by a sister, LeAnn; and a brother, Eric.

Mr. Terry Wilkie, age 56 of Jasper, Ga., passed Saturday, May 3, 2008 at Heartland Hospice House in Cartersville, Ga. following his battle with cancer.
Born June 29, 1951 in Pickens County, he was a lifetime resident. Mr. Wilkie had worked with Coca Cola as a technician until his retirement in 2007.
Survivors include his wife, Wylene Wilkie, Jasper; daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Von Headrick, Jasper; son, Chris Wilkie, Jasper; parents, Ralph and Ruby Russell Wilkie, Jasper; grandchildren, Lindsey and Lucus Headrick, both of Jasper; sisters, Cindy Bennett, Waleska, and Patty Brannon, Jasper; and brothers, Lamar Wilkie, Acworth, and Tim Wilkie, Jasper. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 6 from Roper Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Terry Dean and James Williams officiating. Interment followed in Pleasant Valley Baptist Church Cemetery in Gilmer County. Pallbearers were: Ronnie Weaver, Frank McDaniel, Garland Griffith, Neil Tucker, Lamar Carver and Terry Cagle. Honorary pallbearers were: Verner Simmons, Jeff Roland, Marcus Kinser, Horace Same, Melvin Puckett, Reed Mathis, Thomas Wilkie and Benny McCurry. The family did accept flowers or donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Mrs. Elda Blackwell, age 89 of Dawsonville, passed away at her residence Friday, May 2, 2008.
Survivors include her son, J.C. Blackwell, Dawsonville; daughters and sons-in-law, Dell and Allard Parker, Alto, Ga., Rosalene and Billy Anderson, Ball Ground, Wanda and Melvin Smith, Dahlonega, and Bonnell and Mark Smith, Jasper; and sisters, Inez Kirby, Ellijay, and Dorothy Hampton, Ball Ground. Twenty-one grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service was held Monday, May 5 at 2 p.m. from Yellow Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Jeff Wilkie and Sylvester Ridings officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were: Jamie, William, Clint and Denny Blackwell, Kenny and Toby Parker, Michael Anderson and Jason Rice. Cagle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Chris Lee Littrell, age 44 of Dalton, passed Saturday, May 3, 2008 at his residence. He was born Feb. 18, 1964 in Orange County, Ca.
Survivors include his wife, Jan Littrell of the residence; sons, Josh and Taylor Littrell; mother, Carolyn Caldwell, all of Dalton; father, Joseph Littrell, Seattle, Wa.; and brother and sister-in-law, Will and Stephanie Wiley, Dalton, Ga.
A memorial service will be conducted Thursday, May 8 at 4:30 p.m. from the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Timms officiating. The family will receive friends until 4:30 at the funeral home.
