David Andrews
David Andrews, age 44 of Jasper, died Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009.
Mr. Andrews was a restaurant cook and a member of Corinth Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Cleo Anderson, Jasper; nephews, Eddie, Orion and Hunter Andrews; niece, Brittany Andrews; great-niece, Kaydin Andrews; and special aunt, Patsy Tippens. Several other aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
The funeral service was held Thursday, Nov. 12 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home with the Revs. Gene Cornelison, Russell Nations and Johnny McPherson officiating. Interment followed in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery.


Billy Sams
Billy Edward Sams, age 63 of Jasper, died Nov. 8, 2009 at his residence.
Mr. Sams worked as a well-driller much of his life and served in the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his sons, Billy ?Brandon? Sams, Jasper and Benjamine Scott Sams, Calhoun, La.; daughters, Candice Hulsey, Canton, and Kelli Dickey, Livingston, La.; and brother, Jimmy Sams, Canton. Six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Mr. Sams was cremated. South Canton Funeral Home & Chapel in charge of arrangements.

Rex Satterfield, Sr.
Rex Satterfield, Sr., age 56 of Talking Rock, passed away Nov. 11, 2009 at Atlanta VA Medical Center.
Mr. Satterfield was a carpenter, a Vietnam vet and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his son, Donald Rex Satterfield, Jr., Talking Rock; daughters, Angie Barnes, Talking Rock, Bethany Feehery, Ball Ground, Amy Satterfield, Woodstock, and Donna Ralston, Jasper; brother, Harold D. Satterfield, Marble Hill; sisters, Gail King, Waleska, and Janice Rhodes, Rome; and fiancee, Tammy Hancock, Talking Rock. Seventeen grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 13 from the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home with the Rev. Trammell Rhodes officiating. Interment followed in Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Erma Herendon
Mrs. Erma ?Nell? L. Herendon, age 82 of Talking Rock, Ga., passed away Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009 at Wildwood Health Center.
Mrs. Herendon was a member of Arbor Hill Baptist Church in Pickens County.
Survivors include her children, George, Tommy and Jimmy L. Clark, Randy Reed and Kathy Bishop, all of Jasper; sister, Sara Eubanks, Ball Ground; and brothers, Grady Gayton, Ellijay, and T.J. Keener, Nelson. Thirteen grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10 from Arbor Hill Baptist Church with the Revs. Keith Cook and Mike Byess officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Sosebee Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Irene Fitz
Mrs. Irene E. Fitz, age 93 of Alabama, formerly of Jasper, Ga., died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009 at Gadsden Health and Rehabilitation Center in Gadsden, Al. following an extended illness.
She was the daughter of the late Anton and Ester Toth. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Kermit R. Fitz, and her son, David A Fitz. Irene was a Pink Lady at the hospital, active in the Jasper Lioness Club and was a member of the Jasper First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and William Bays, Waynesboro, Va.; daughter-in-law, Susan R. Fitz, Gadsden; grandchildren, Susan Frost and husband Gordon, Rainbow City, Al., Buck Tucker and wife Lori, Boaz, Al., April Hill, Trussville, Al.; Roy Tucker and wife Lori, Boaz, Al., Adrienne Barker and husband Justin, Stuarts Draft, Va., and Scott Bays, Waynesboro, Va.; great-grandchildren, Noah Frost, Cayden and Jayce Tucker and Bailey Humphries; and step-grandchild, Chuck Wert.
The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 13 from Jasper First Baptist Church with Dr. Jimmy Lewis officiating. Interment followed in Long Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery. Barbara Kirk
Mrs. Barbara Elizabeth Kirk, age 62 of Talking Rock, Ga., died Monday, Nov. 9, 2009 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper following a sudden illness.
Born June 7, 1947 in Rutherford County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Hal George and Mary Hill Cunningham West. Mrs. Kirk worked in customer service with Heritage Propane in Ellijay after her retirement of 32 years with Atlanta Gas Co.
Survivors include her husband, Ronnie Kirk, Talking Rock; daughter, Leigh Ann Thompson, Florida; sister and brother-in-law, Cathy and Lindsay Gregory, Ellijay; brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Lynda West, Marietta; brother-in-law and spouse, Hugh and Frances Gravely, Jasper; and father-in-law, Hobby Kirk, Talking Rock. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends also survive.
The funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13 from Roper Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Helton and Tyler Gregory officiating. Interment followed in Talking Rock Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Danny West, Lindsay, Kyle and Tyler Gregory and Rusty and Jamie Gravely. Fred Kittle, Jr.
Mr. Fred Kittle, Jr., age 75 of Jasper, Ga., died Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009 at his residence following an extended illness.
Born Feb. 4, 1934 in Jackson County, Ga., he was the son of the late Fred, Jr. and Pearl Robinson Kittle. Mr. Kittle was a US Army vet having served in the Korean Conflict and had worked as an automobile mechanic.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Peggy Kittle, Jasper; daughters, MayLynn White, Mayesville, Ga., Gale Hawkins, Eatonton, and Nan Fick, Covington; step-daughters, Anita Daugherty, Jasper, and Tina Lee Chambers, Cumming; several grandchildren; brother, the Rev. Roy Kittle, Milledgeville; half-brother, Johnny Hutchins, Milledgeville; and sister, Polly Sellers, Union City. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
A graveside service was held at noon on Thursday, Nov. 12 at Lake Forest Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Roy Kittle officiating. Pallbearers were: Tim Harkins, Joey Kittle, Chip White, Ms. Misha Charters, Glenn Ferguson, Marie Goode, Dean Pruitt and Jerome Roberts.

Rev. Eulan Bruce
The Rev. Eulan Bruce, age 73 of Canton, passed Monday evening, Nov. 9, 2009 at Wellstar-Kennestone Hospital, Marietta.
Survivors include his son, Steve Bruce, Canton; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Sonny Padgett, Canton; brother, Winston Bruce, Jasper; and sisters, Jane Mulkey, Alpharetta, Grace Kirk, Jasper, and Eunice Steadman, Rome. Four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.
The funeral service was held Thursday, Nov. 12 at 2 p.m. from Long Swamp Baptist Church with the Revs. Lamar Frady and Greg Koch officiating. T.C. Cantrell
Mr. T.C. Cantrell, age 68 of Talking Rock, Ga., passed at his residence early Tuesday morning, Nov. 10, 2009.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey and Lori Cantrell and Jason and Angel Cantrell, all of Talking Rock; daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Johnny Stanley, Talking Rock, and Teresa and Gary Hightower, Jasper; brothers, G.W. Cantrell, Fairmount, and Howard Cantrell, Talking Rock; and sister, Jean Cantrell. Nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service was held Thursday, Nov. 12 at 11 a.m. from Talking Rock Baptist Church with the Revs. Kenneth Kirk and Robert Allen officiating. Interment followed in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Gary Cantrell, Randy, Josh and David Stanley, Travis Gilreath and Kenney Weaver. Mrs. Lucille Wehunt of Tate passed early Thursday morning, Nov. 12, 2009 at Wildwood Health Care, Talking Rock.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Ann Wehunt, Dahlonega, and Tommy and Connie Wehunt, Jasper; daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Marvin Brown, Jasper; and sister, Ophelia Mitchell, Canton. Three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces also survive.
The funeral service was held Saturday, Nov. 14 at 11 a.m. from Bethesda Baptist Church. Jody Hight
Mr. Jody Lee Hight, age 21 of Adairsville, passed away Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009 at Gordon Hospital from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Born in Bartow County, Ga. on March 15, 1988, he was the son of Sammy and Jean Hamrick Hight. Mr. Hight was a graduate of Adairsville High School and had been employed by the City of Cartersville Water Department. He was preceded in death by three of his grandparents, James Hamrick and Pauline and Jim Hight.
Survivors include his fiancee and expecting mother, Tiffany Coward, Adairsville; parents, Sammy and Jean Hight, Adairsville; sister and brother-in-law, Stacy and Aaron Kline, Adairsville; grandmother, Reva Hamrick, Ranger; niece, Hannah Stanley; and nephew, Austin Devier. Several aunts and uncles also survive.
The funeral service was held Wednesday, Nov. 18 at 2 p.m. from the Adairsville Church of God with the Revs. Johnny Atkins and Steve Morrow officiating. The body did lie in state at the church from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour. Interment followed in Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville. Pallbearers were: Russ Morrow, Anthony McConnell, Chris Alford, John and Bradley Atkins and Randy Harris.
