Terrence Peterson
Terrence Lee (Terry) Peterson passed away Sept. 8, 2009 in Orlando, Fl. from complications of a torn aorta.
He was born in Sioux Falls, S.D., and lived the past 25 years in the Lake Mary-Sanford, Fl. area. Terry owned his own business, specializing in irrigation. He was the lead vocalist of The BluesBusters, a local band of brothers who spread good times and good cheer throughout Central Florida, often playing in B.B. King?s blues clubs.
Preceding him in death were his son, John Warren Peterson; father, Warren ?Pete? Peterson; and mother, Donna Peterson.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Trey Chapman; step-grandson, Evan Chapman, Longwood, Fl.; his half-sister and brother-in-law, Kristina and John Lummus, Talking Rock; step-mother, Mary Peterson, Jasper; aunts and uncles, Rosie and Burt Rude, Minnesota, Louella and Bob Knowles, Florida, Etta Linssen, Minnesota, Jeanette and Bud Druger, Iowa, and Dr. Dean and Elizabeth Peterson, Tennessee. Also mourning is passing are his devoted companion, Yvonne Tufford, and his best friend, Lowell Britz, both of Florida.

Donal Goode
Mr. Donal Eugene Goode, age 61 of Jasper, passed away Friday, Sept. 18, 2009 at his home.
Mr. Goode was born May 18, 1948 to the late Eugene Key and Mary Ruth Padgett Goode. He enlisted in the US Army on August 22, 1968. While serving his country in Vietnam, he earned three Purple Hearts, three Bronze Service stars, an Army Commendation Medal and an Air Medal with V Device. He was also a Green Beret. Mr. Goode was a member of Amicalola Baptist Church in Dawson County and was self-employed as a truck driver.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Goble Goode; sons, Anthony Donal Goode, Jasper, Gregory Scott Childers, Ellijay, and Christopher Todd Childers; daughter, Mary Katherine Kleinberg, Jasper; sisters, Joyce Hagin, Madison, and Pamela Cataldi, Jasper; brothers, Terry Goode, Jasper, and David Goode, South Carolina; and grandchildren, Madelyn Louise and Erin Marie Goode, Tori and Addi Kleinberg, Emily Hall, Leslie Nichols and Ely Henson.
The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Monday from Jasper United Methodist Church with the Rev. Chip Wilson officiating. Interment followed at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Georgia National Cemetery. The family requests in lieu of flowers, you may make contributions to the Hope Center in Cartersville, Ga. Roper Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Kelly Kirby
Ms. Kelly Dinah Kirby, age 26 of Talking Rock, Ga., along with her mother, Joan Brown Kirby, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born July 10, 1983 in Cherokee County, Ga., she had worked in the packing department with Goldkist in Ellijay, Ga.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas Rice, Jefferson, Ga.; sons, Jacob Kirby, Jason Rice and Nicholas Kirby, all of Chatsworth, Ga.; step-daughter, Haley Rice, Chatsworth; father, Doug Kirby, Talking Rock; sisters, Rhonda Kirby, Jasper, Wendie Kirby, Free Home, and Tracey and Kimberly Kirby, both of Jasper; brothers, Donald, David, Dwayne and Dion Kirby, all of Jasper. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 18 from Roper Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. LeRoy Kelly and Pastor David Herring officiating.

Joan Kirby
Mrs. Joan Brown Kirby, age 57 of Talking Rock, Ga., along with her daughter, Kelly Dinah Kirby, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born July 26, 1952 in Pickens County, she was the daughter of the late Boyd and Oni Mae Reddish Brown. Mrs. Kirby was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Doug Kirby, Talking Rock; daughters, Rhonda Kirby, Jasper, Wendie Kirby, Free Home, and Tracey and Kimberly Kirby, both of Jasper; sons, Donald, David, Dwayne and Dion Kirby, all of Jasper; 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; and brother, Joe Neal Brown, Jasper. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Effie Evans
Mrs. Effie Evans, age 91 of Jasper, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Troy and Joyce Evans, Tate, Jerry and Pat Evans, Jasper, and Grady and June Evans, Atlanta; daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte Chadwick Stephens and Steve Stephens, Jasper; 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; and nephew, Gene Landers, Marietta.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19 from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with the Rev. Grant Wade officiating. Music was provided by Regina Morgan of Gilmer County, accompanied by John Lough of Cobb County. Interment followed in Clear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Gilmer County. Pallbearers were: Brandon Heath, Scott, Darren, Gary and Jerry Evans and Jay Walls.

Sarah Spence
Sarah Frances Spence, age 76 of Ball Ground, died Sept. 18, 2009.
Survivors include her husband, Henry Spence, Ball Ground, sons, Harold and James Henry Spence, both of Jasper; daughters, Wanda Faye Dollar and Joyce Jordan, both of Ball Ground; brothers, Harold Burgess, Canton, and Ralph Burgess, Ellijay; and sisters, Roseann Tillery and Peggy Bell, both of Jasper, and Dorothy Blankenship, Canton. Eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service was held Sunday, Sept. 20 at 3 p.m. from Fairview Baptist Church with the Revs. Johnny McPherson and Troy Davis officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. South Canton Funeral Home & Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Lolly Hughes
Mrs. Lolly J. Hughes, age 61 of the Yellow Creek Community, passed away Monday, Sept. 21, 2009 at her residence.
Survivors include her husband, Melvin Hughes, Yellow Creek; son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Melissa Sparks, Yellow Creek; step-sons and step-daughter-in-law, Doyle Hughes and John and Melissa Hughes, Ball Ground; daughters, Ruth Hannah, Yellow Creek, and April Trippe, Jasper; step-daughters and step-sons-in-law, Vivian and Robert Jones and Melissa and Lee Jones, all of Wilmington, N.C.; brother, James Jarrett, Yellow Creek; and grandchildren, Billy Roper, Amberly Sparks, Hunter Trippe, Wesley Sparks, Sarah Hannan and Ryan Sparks. Several stepgrandchildren also survive.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23 from Yellow Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Sylvester Ridings and John Holloway officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were: Billy Roper, Hunter Trippe, Bill Howell, Joe O?Bryant, Doyle and John Hughes and Wesley Sparks. The family did accept flowers or you make donations to St. Judes Hospital. Cagle Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Bobbie Lyon
Mrs. Bobbie Lyon, age 75 of Ball Ground, Ga., died Monday, Sept. 21, 2009 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital.
Survivors include her son, Stephen Lyons, Ball Ground; sisters, Ruth Darby and Wylone Jones, both of Ball Ground; and granddaughter, Brooklyn Lyon, Jasper.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23 from the Chapel of Darby Huey Funeral Home in Canton. Interment was in Sharp Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev.
