Mr. John Thomas White, age 63 of Jasper, Ga., passed away on Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Born Dec. 19, 1950, in Chamblee, Ga., he was the son of the late Herbert Thomas White and Loretta Pugh White. Mr. White was a teacher with the Pickens County School System.
Survivors include his wife, Rebecca White, Jasper; son and daughter-in-law, Paris and Bethany White, Jasper; daughter and son-in-law, Naomi and Drew Craver, Athens, Ga.; grandchildren, Sophie White, Jasper, and Drew Craver, II and Twyla Craver, both of Athens; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Ollie White, Ball Ground, Ga.; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret and Pete Jones, Canton, Ga., Melinda and Andy Edwards and Cindy and Bill White, all of Jasper. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
At his request Mr. White was cremated. A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, at The Episcopal Church of the Holy Family with the Rev. George Yandel officiating. A reception followed immediately in the Parrish Hall of the church.

Mr. Chris Eugene Moss, age 50 of Talking Rock, Ga., died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta.
Chris was born March 8, 1963, in Canton, Ga. He worked 25 years for Cherokee County as an IT Specialist and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church for 34 years.
He is survived by his wife, Tonya Moss, Talking Rock; parents, Billy and Ruth Moss, Canton; daughter and son-in-law, Brittany and Lee Morgan, Talking Rock; and granddaughter, Payeton Marie Morgan, Talking Rock. Several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Antioch Baptist Church with the Revs. James Thompson, Robert Allen and Harold Cantrell officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Roper Funeral Home & Crematory in Jasper was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. J.L. Davis, age 78 of Jasper, passed away Friday, Feb. 14, 2014, at Wildwood Health Care.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Davis, Jasper; mother-in-law, Stella Anderson, Jasper daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Doug Evans, Fairmount, and Debbie and Allan Hill and Sondra Fountain, all of Jasper; sister, Edith Clark, Jasper; grandchildren, Whitney and Cody Patterson, Kristen and Dustin Johnson, Ashlie and Josh Lairsey and Jordan and Alexis Hill; and great-grandchildren, Will and Julia Patterson and Emma and Isabella Johnson. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, at Sharptop Baptist Church with the Revs. Robert Allen, Darryl Bailey and Don Cagle officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were: Ethan Fields, Shannon Mobley, Chad Clark, Steve Brock, Chuck, Steven and Terrell Wigington and Gene Free. Ms. Dawn Stacey, age 56 of Jasper, Ga., died Sunday Feb. 16, 2014.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 22, at 11 a.m. from the Hope Lutheran Church with Pastor David Smedley officiating.
