Pamela Ingram Watkins, age 48 of Ellijay, passed away Jan. 6, 2014, at Piedmont Hospital-Atlanta following a sudden illness.
Pam worked for the Gilmer County Christian Learning Center as an office administrator and was a member of the East Ellijay Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her father, James Ingram; and sister, Kathy Moss Garland.
Survivors include her husband, Dwayne Watkins, of the home; sons, Thomas Vandiver, Atlanta, and Trevor Watkins, Ellijay; daughters, Haley Vandiver Sheehy, Atlanta, and Sonya Watkins, Orlando, Fl.; mother, Thelma Raynes James, Jasper; brothers, Ronnie J. Moss and Tim Ingram, both of Jasper; and sisters, Verette Angel, Jasper, Mary Redding, Atlanta, and Vivian Murphy and Carol Darby, Ball Ground. Nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service was held Friday, Jan. 10, at 2 p.m. from East Ellijay Baptist Church with Dr. Milton Perry and the Rev. Caleb Land officiating. Pallbearers were: Michael Holbrook, Eric Colson, Robert Angel, Caleb Land, Ben Kiker, Ronnie Moss and Tim Ingram. Interment followed in the Yukon Cemetery. Bernhardt Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Barbara Jean Pierce, age 64 of Jasper, entered into rest at her residence on Tuesday night, Jan. 7, 2014.
She is survived by her husband, John Pierce, Jasper; mother, Jimmie Nell Thomason, Jasper; sons and daughters-in-law, Ray and Danette Frame, Kentucky, and Mike and Angela Frame, Canton; daughter and son-in-law, Julia and Mike Alton, Canton; sister and brother-in-law, Lynn and John Worley, Acworth; and grandchildren, Tyler, Katlyn, Dylan, Alex and Riley. Several nephews also survive.
The graveside service was held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 9, at Macedonia Memorial Park with the Rev. Jess Posey officiating. Pallbearers were: Mike, Tyler and Ray Frame, Gary Pierce, Sr., Gary Pierce, Jr. and Tommy Pierce. Cagle Funeral Home is honored to serve the Pierce family.
Mrs. Ruby Emalease Hamrick Townsend, age 100 of Fairmount, Ga., departed this life Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, at Piedmont Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Molly Crawford Hamrick; brothers, Grady, Earl and E.W. Hamrick; and sisters, Eula Graham, Pearl Jones, Jewel Townsend and Ethell Parker. She was also preceded by her husband, the Rev. William Townsend; sons, Edward and Clyde Townsend; and daughter, Ruthelle Townsend Collis.
Emalease is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Patricia Townsend and James Townsend, all of Fairmount, Shirley Townsend, Jerusalem, and Mandy Townsend, Ludville; grandchildren, Bo Townsend, Tracy Burtons, Scott Townsend, Nanny Hales, Linda Townsend and Susan Snider; and sister, Odell Crook, Calhoun. Several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service to celebrate her life was held Wednesday, Jan. 15, at 2 p.m. at Ponders Fairmount Chapel with the Rev. Leon Goodwin officiating. Music was provided by Imogene Hall and Annette Cross. She was laid to rest next to her husband in Pleasant Grove (Ryo) Cemetery with Bo, Oren and Arvil Townsend, Robbie and Mitchell Hales and R.L. Parker serving as pallbearers. Stanley Mulkey served as honorary pallbearer.
Mrs. Nanna M. Moore, age 74 of Suwanee, Ga., passed away on Jan. 12, 2014.
Mrs. Moore was born Jan. 30, 1939, in Millington, Mi. She received her education at Marietta Vocational Technical in Marietta, Ga. She was retired from Cobb County Government in Building Development Department.
She was preceded in death by her step-daughter, Wilma D. Adams.
She is survived by her husband of 18 years, W.T. Moore, Suwanee; children, Debbie Alger, Acworth, Ga., Douglas Worden, Jr., Trion, Ga., Duane Worden, Flint, Mi., Karen Dagley and Sherry and Darvin Pickelsimer, all of Jasper, Ga.; step-children, Jerry and Lori Moore and Larry Moore, all of Suwanee; 18 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard and Jan Myers, Jerry Myers and George Myers, all of Millington, Mi., and John Myers, Lupton, Mi.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with the Rev. David Adams officiating. Interment will follow at Level Creek United Methodist Cemetery, Suwanee.
Mr. Danny Dale Gubernath, age 67 of Ball Ground, Ga., died Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, at his residence.
Danny was born July 2, 1946, in Marion, Oh., to the late Albert and Mary Gubernath. He served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corp from 1963 until 1972. As a founding member of Westminster Chapel in Ball Ground, Ga., he wanted everyone he touched to love the Bible as much as he did. He attended Liberty University Home Bible Institute and Moody Bible Institute while working for Bellsouth in Cumming, Ga., where he retired after 26 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his son, Joshua Cody Evans.
He is survived by his wife, Gigi Turpen Gubernath, Ball Ground; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Nikki Lowman Gubernath, Ball Ground; granddaughters, Shaunna and Abbie; brother and sister-in-law, Albert “Bud” and Francine Gubernath, Roseau, Mn.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Earl and Betty Jo Turpen, Ball Ground; and brother-in-law, Jeff Turpen, Ball Ground. Several nieces, nephews and a host of loving and caring friends also survive.
The funeral service was held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, at the Roper Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Alan Lutz and Steve Wigington officiating. A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.
