Mr. Radford Lanier Grant, age 72 of Jasper, Ga., died Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at his residence following a period of declining health.
Born Feb. 26, 1941, in Pickens County, he was the son of the late Radford M. and Mary Cowart Grant. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Gene Grant.
Mr. Grant was a veteran having served in the United States Army, had retired after 25 years with J&J Industries in Dalton, Ga., and was a member of Jasper First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Shirley Kirk Grant, Jasper; daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Scott Jackson of Jasper; son and daughter-in-law, David L. and Jennifer Grant, Ringgold, Ga.; and grandchildren, Holden, Morgan and Mary Beth Jackson and Gavin T. Grant. Several nieces, nephews and cousin also survive.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 6, from the Roper Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Kenneth Kirk, Chip Wilson and Robert Allen officiating. Interment followed in the Jasper City Cemetery.
John Carr, Jr.
Mr. John Wesley Carr, Jr., age 74 of Jasper, entered into rest on Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at his residence.
He is survived his son, James Carr, Buford; daughter, Julie Carr, Jasper; sisters, Jean Jones, Canton, Betty Sue Griffith, Epworth, Amelia Craig, Douglasville, Annette Carr, Ellijay, Marijoyce Porcelli, Belmont, N.C., Margaret McClain, Adairsville, and Edna Lea Hedden, Blairsville. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Mr. Carr was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Faye Carr; son, Jay W. Carr; and brothers, James Douglas Carr and Leon Carr.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 6, at County Line Baptist Church with the Revs. Jess Posey and Ed Jones officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were: Daryl and Derrick Payne, David, Randy and William Ray and Gerold Parker. Cagle Funeral Home was honored to serve the Carr family.
Jack Bruce Rauch was born in Detroit, Mi., on Sept. 26, 1933. He passed away July 5, 2013. Mr. Rauch was preceded in death by his daughter, Jacquline Irene; and wife, Billy Ruth Davis.
Jack fought in the Korean War. He was a self employed house mover for most of his life.
He is survived by his daughters, Debra Loumakis, Lorie Greene and son, John Rauch; grandchildren, Melanie Loumakis, Justin Greene, Jennifer Loumakis, Valerie Maughon, Cameron Greene, Audrey Rauch, Nichole Sams and Charlene Rauch; and great-grandchildren, Skylar and Kyla Loumakis.

Mr. Mack G. Martin, age 84 of Jasper, entered into rest on Monday, July 1, 2013, at Canton Nursing and Rehab Center.
Mr. Martin is survived his sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Betty Sue Martin, Canton, and Frank and Barbara Martin, Jasper; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and John Boyd, Tate, and Regina and Jeff Payne, Jasper; and sister, Jane Watkins, Jasper. Mr. Martin had 12 grandchildren, Stephanie Rickman, Brandy Mann, Misty Ingram, Kaitlin, Abby, Jessica and Stacy Payne, Mitchell Boyd, Rachael Jones, and Eric, Kris and Randy Martin; and eight great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his wife, Dimple Jackson Martin; and his son, Randy L. Martin.
The funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, at Cagle Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gene Childers and Tommy Teague officiating. Cagle Funeral Home was honored to serve the Martin family.
Mrs. Betty Louise Fann, age 77 of Tate, entered into rest on Thursday, July 4, 2013, at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital.
Mrs. Fann is survived her sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Joyce Fann, Ball Ground, and Jamie and Becky Fann, Tate; daughter, Patsy Davis, Tate; grandchildren, Gary and Katie Fann and Ben and Vicki Cagle, all of Ball Ground; and great-grandchildren, Ryan Fann and Clayton Cagle. Mrs. Fann was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Fann.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 6, at Cagle Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Danny Baker and Curtis Roland officiating. Interment followed at Lake Forest Memorial Park. Pallbearers were: Joe Duckett, Keith Holmes, Keith Hallman, Chad Thacker, Gary Fann and Ben Cagle. Honorary pallbearers were Ronald and Donald Duke. Cagle Funeral Home was honored to serve the Fann family.
Mrs. Lorene Jackson Bennett, age 89 of Talking Rock, Ga., died Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at her residence following a period of declining health.
Born Oct. 19, 1923, in Pickens County, Ga., she was the daughter of the late John Wiley Jackson and Myrtle Tippens Jackson and was also preceded in death by her husband, Willard Cullen Bennett. Mrs. Bennett was a homemaker and a member of the New Harmony Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Paulette Bennett, Ball Ground, Ga., Larry and Delores Bennett, Canton, Ga., and Tony Bennett, Talking Rock, Ga.; grandchildren, Dedra Coley, Darlene Pendley, Denise Gentry, Darrin, Kelly, Brian, Daryl and DeAnna Bennett; step-grandchildren, Janie Holmes, Lisa Hendrix and Bryan Evans; nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, seven step-great-grandchildren and four step-great-great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law also survive.
The funeral services was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 29, at Roper Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Padgett officiating. Interment followed in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
