Katie H. Enis, age 77 of Jasper, died Monday, April 8, 2013.
Katie was the daughter of Gurlie Walker Holmes and Annie Ruth Fitts Holmes (deceased). She was a graduate of Samford University in Birmingham, Al. Katie was a lifelong educator. She taught English for many years at Pickens County High School. Later in her career she taught reading at Jasper Elementary and Tate Elementary and English at Pickens Middle School. Katie also worked with adult students learning English as a second language.
Katie, “Nanny,” was a beloved grandmother to her 10 grandchildren. Her daughters and grandchildren were her greatest joy.
Katie was a devoted member of the Jasper First Baptist Church for more than 40 years. In her service to the church she taught Sunday School, participated in the Youth Mission Trip, VBS, Bible Study and other service projects.
Katie loved entertaining and her home was always open and she treated everyone like family. Her cheese straws were famous in Pickens County and over the years they were served at countless bridal and baby showers. Survivors include daughters, Donna Enis, Kathy Westbrook (Mike), Terri Lawson (Al) and Jennifer Cluley (Trent), all of Jasper; daughter, Lori Keller (Nathan), Cumming; and grandchildren, Brian and Andrew Westbrook, Will, Ali and Clay Lawson, Aisling and Sosonna Cluley and Hillary, Jack and Annie Keller.
The funeral services was held Wednesday, April 10, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Jasper with Dr. Jimmy Lewis and Dr. Charles Boggan officiating. Interment followed at Lake Forest Cemetery in Jasper. The family received friends Tuesday and Wednesday at Roper Funeral Home in Jasper. Contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Jasper Building Fund, 198 E Church St., Jasper, Ga. 30143. Marietta Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. William Snyder “Billy” Little, age 68 of Jasper, Ga., died Friday, April 19, 2013, at the Tranquility Hospice at Kennesaw Mountain in Marietta, Ga., following his battle with cancer.
Born March 27, 1945, in Marietta, he was preceded in death by his father, Snyder William Little. Mr. Little was a graduate of Georgia Tech, had retired as an engineer from Lockheed and was an avid lover of “old cars.”
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Lula Little of Jasper; and several aunts, uncle, cousins and a host of friends.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 21, at Refuge Baptist Church with the Revs. Larry Johnson and Huey Holloway officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Arrangements and services were entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home of Jasper.
Grace Frances Presley, age 98, was born August 8, 1914, in Pickens County. She passed away on April 18, 2013.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 27, at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Christian Church in Pickens County. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Pleasant Hill Christian Church or Mid-Atlantic Christian University in Elizabeth City, N.C.
