Mrs. Janice Densmore Childers, age 61 of Jasper, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital.
Janice was a floral designer. She was a member of Mica Baptist Church, the Tate Marble Valley Friends and a former Jasper Jaycette.
She was preceded in death by her father, James “Spud” Densmore; brother, Randall Densmore; and sister, Diane Fox. Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Harley T. Childers, Jasper; children, Mark (Crystal), Scott, Greg and Samantha Childers, all of Jasper; mother, Helen Densmore, Jasper; siblings, Donald Densmore, Acworth, Evelyn Williams, Jasper, and Jerry “Birdhead” Densmore, Ball Ground; and grandchildren, Catarina, Jessica, Cindy, Natasha, Matthew, Bailey, Chaz, Caleb and Beth. Several great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 18, from Sosebee Memorial Chapel with the Revs. Steve Chadwick and Gene Childers officiating. Interment followed in Lake Forest Memorial Park.
Ms. Patricia Fowler Carlan, age 61 of Jasper, Ga., died on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper.
Ms. Carlan was born Wednesday, May 9, 1951, in Tate, Ga. She was preceded in death by her father, James Hugh Fowler.
She was employed by Pickens County Board of Education and was a member of Jasper United Methodist Church.
Surviving include her sons, Aaron and Joseph Carlan; former spouse, Don Carlan; mother, Gladys Darby Fowler; brothers, Larry, Randal, Hugh and David Fowler; sister, Gretta Fowler; and grandchildren, James, Ethan and DL Carlan.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 17, from Roper Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Eunice Romine, age 98 of Jasper, passed away Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at Heritage Heath Care in Jasper.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Lamar Carver, Jasper; grandchildren and spouses, Sandy and Bill Jordan and Stephanie and Jamie Boling, all of Jasper; great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Taylor and Reagan; and nieces, Barbara Hall, Calhoun, and Peggy Allen, Florida.
The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with Ministers Kasey Kuyper and the Chris Romine officiating. Interment followed at Bethel Christian Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Bill Jordan, Jamie Boling, Mike Boswell, Jerry Allen, Chris Romine and John Sachau.
Mr. Roger L. Lovell, age 72 of Jasper, passed away at his residence, Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013.
Survivors include his wife, Naomi Lovell, Jasper; and step-sons and step-daughters-in-law, Wade and Debra Poore, Douglasville, Ga., David and Rhonda Poore, Taylorsville, Ga., Lee Poore, Gainesville, and Paul Poore, Jasper. Eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.
The graveside service was held Monday, Jan. 21, at Sunrise Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Lee Roy Blackwell officiating. The family requests in lieu of flowers donate to the National Kidney Foundation or Halcyon Hospice, 151 N Bay View Road, Villa Rica, Ga. 30180. Cagle Funeral Home was honored to serve the Lovell Family.
Mrs. Brenda Holcomb, age 61 of Ball Ground, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at Floyd Medical Center in Rome, Ga.
Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Holcomb. She is survived by her mother, Inez Haygood, Ball Ground; sister, Linda Howell, Ball Ground; and nieces, Angie (Robbie) Young, Canton, and Amy (Tim) Foster, Marble Hill. Several great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 22, at Sosebee Memorial Chapel with Rev. James Rich officiating. Interment followed in Ball Ground Baptist Church Cemetery.
Jonah Leaf Zachery Hall, infant son of Bill and Stephanie Jones Hall, went to be with Jesus on Sunday morning at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Dec. 29, 2012, in Jasper.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sisters, Sydney Dianne Hall and Zadie Grace Hall; brother, Will Jonathan Hall; grandparents, Jimmy and Dianne Jones and Bill and Edie Stone; aunts and uncles, Taryn and Rick Goble, Jim and Amanda Jones, Julie Hall, Wendy and John Soulimiotis, Kathie Jones and Weston and Kirsten Hall,; great-aunts and great-uncles, Mike and Mary Ann Johnston, Dena and Don Keeter, Ellen Glynn Lloyd and Mary Bryant.
The funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21, at the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Dr. Jimmy Lewis and the Rev. David Stuart officiating. A private interment service took place in the Jones Family Cemetery. The family did accept flowers or those who desire may make contributions to either St. Jude’s Children’s Research or the Jasper First Baptist Church Building Fund.
Mr. Wallace Mullinax, age 77 of Jasper, Ga., died on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper.
He was born April 8, 1935, in Jasper.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Mullinax, Jasper; daughters and son-in-law, Sandra Mullinax and Christie and Dan Pool, all of Jasper; granddaughters, Madeline and Ellie Pool, Jasper; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Sue Mullinax, Marietta, Ga; and sisters and brother-in-law, Lorea Thompson, Travelers Rest, S.C., Joyce Ridley, Dawsonville, Ga., and Shirley and Randy Defoor, Calhoun, Ga. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 21, at Roper Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jess Posey officiating. Interment followed in County Line Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Jody and Brian Poole, Mark Ridley, Adam Pool, Adrian Thompson, Troy Morris and Marshall Mullins.
Mrs. Joyce Pruitt, age 66 of Ellijay, Ga., died on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper, Ga.
Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Sandra and Billy Little, Elaine Pruitt and Bo Ellis, all of Jasper, and April Maheu, Ellijay; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Melissa Pruitt, Jasper; and brothers and sister-in-law, Danny and Gail Hulsey, Dahlonega, Ga., and Billy Hulsey, Jasper. Six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her brother, Gary Hulsey.
The funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, at Roper Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Rick Jarrett and Snookum Little officiating. Interment followed in Mica Baptist Church Cemetery.
Patricia James, age 68 of Jasper, Ga., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at her home in Jasper.
Born Thursday, March 2, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Royce and the late Mildred Martin Northcutt Nash. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Teresa White.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Greg and D’Lynn James, Jasper; daughter and sons-in-law, Rita and Doug Rogers, Waleska, Ga., and David White, Colbert, Ga.; and grandchildren, Clifton and Lauren White, Rebekah and Joshua Rogers and Gracie and Maggie James.
The funeral service was held at 1 p.m. on Monday at Roper Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Randall Cagle and Elder Marty Smith officiating. Interment followed in Lake Forest Memorial Park, Jasper.
